Thank God for wonderful families. We had a great time with DH's family last night, and then were having a nice, peaceful drive to CT this morning for my family. I was so excited to see my sister, BIL, and nephews. I had just called my mom to say we were about 35 minutes away when BAM! A man in a very large pick-up truck ran a stop sign and smashed into us. DH did everything he could to stop our car and avoid the accident, but it was inevitable. He totaled DH's car. Luckily we have lots of loved ones up above who were watching over us because one second later and he would have driven directly into DH's driver's door. In fact, I saw it coming and started screaming and closed my eyes. When I opened them I was afraid to look over because I was terrified that DH was injured. We walked away without injuries (went to the hospital to get checked out just in case). The whole thing makes me want to throw up, but I just keep thanking God that we are ok. We did get to spend some nice time with my whole family today, and will get to spend the day with my them tomorrow too.
Re: Not such a merry day
How scary! Glad to hear you and DH are safe and unhurt.
OMG! I am so glad you are both ok!!!
DH and I were in a similar accident with an old lady on Xmas eve several years ago. NOT a good way to spend the holiday. Hope you guys are not sore and get to enjoy the rest of the weekend together, safely.

Thanks ladies. I'm more sore this morning then DH this morning, and in some weird places. The only good thing was that we got to visit with my mom last night at the hospital since she was working.
Now onto the not so fun stuff today. At least DH has been in insurance for the past 17 years so he knows how to handle everything.
Oh my g-D! so glad no one was injured...it's especially scary when you see it coming and cant do anything about it...
