My ILs reaction to the letter

We left it in FILs truck on Christmas Day so that as they were leaving DH's uncle's house they would find it.

MIL didn't say anything when we called the next day to tell her what time Hunter was coming over, so we were super nervous that she was majorly PO'd with us.

But all was well, she told Hunter when we got there "Grandma and Grampy got you letter and we'll do our very best!  Grandma is making a copy for Grampy to carry around with him so that when we want to smoke we remember who we're quitting for."

So hopefully it works!  Fingers crossed!

Re: My ILs reaction to the letter

  • That's great!!  Sounds like they really took it to heart - hope that they have success!
  • That's great! It's hard, but there's no better reason to quit than kids. I quit the day my youngest nephew was born!
  • Yeah, I'd have been nervous for you!  Glad it went over well and they're going to try!
  • Glad they took the letter the best way possible. I really hope they can quit!!
  • I'm glad to hear the letter went over well!  I hope they're able to stick to their goal to quit now!

  • Hopefully they follow through!

My sister wouldnt even let anyone who smoked hold Olivia for the first couple months. Something about the smoke on their clothes transferring onto baby...They would have to of course wash their hands and then only hold her with a blanket that would get washed immediatly.

Im honestly surprised people still smoke...if not for the health side of it the freaken cost side of it!

I havent smoked in 10 years(ish) but dang, my smokes only ever cost me $3 bucks at the most, I think they are over $5 something now! INSANE!

My mom complains that they have no money, but her and my Sdad both smoke a pack+ a day! Ummm hello thats $70-ish dollars a WEEK!

  • I'm so glad they took it a good way - my fingers are crossed that they stick to it.
