Re: ?Mamas & Mamas to Be: Weekly Check-in?

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

34 weeks, 1 day.  I just noticed that I am "next on the list" now that Teri has had Elyse.  EEK!

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Libby has dropped...she is head down but still sunny-side up.  I saw the OB today and she is estimated to be 5 lbs. 7 oz.  I also saw the endocrinologist today and she said I am doing really well with my GD and I'll only need to fax her my numbers (glucose readings) from here forward...no more appointments unless something changes.

That said, today I had puffy ankles (which I have only gotten twice before and I was on my feet all day) and my BP was 130/80 which is high for me.  So I am going to watch it over the next few days...just to be safe.  I have another non-stress test tomorrow...Libby passed the first one last Friday with flying colors.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

Non-stress test (NST) tomorrow.  Next appt. is the 30th and I'll have my first internal (not looking forward to that) and the Strep B swab.  From here forward I will be seeing my OB once a week and getting the NST once a week too.

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

That no matter how easy/uncomplicated the first and second trimesters are it can all take a turn in the third tri.  I was so proud of myself for not gaining much weight, eating right and exercising...so when I was dx with GD it was a huge blow.  Now I understand it more and have accepted that it was nothing I've done, but I was very naive going into the third tri.  I also wish I knew how big and clumsy I'd feel in the last month...

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

Luckily J's family is way casual....so I am wearing a new hot pink velour hoodie and pants outfit I got from Old Navy with a black long sleeved t-shirt that is embellished with seed beads (in my 34 week pic below, actually) and black shearling boots.  So comfy! And I love that the pants come in a long option...woot!

    image  imageimage

Best of all, I got all three ON SALE this week!  Woo hoo!  So I am warm and comfy and can wear it after the baby comes too.  I also got a black hoodie set (different top though) since ON was having a huge sale and 20% off online purchases.

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

We're registered at Amazon.com and have gotten lots of stuff off of it actually.  Most of it was purchased by my mom....LOL!  But I also had a long lost aunt send us three items today...so random...I haven't seen her since HS but we just reconnected via FB last week.  I love that Amazon has a Universal Registry option, so I've added things from Etsy, Walmart, Cotton Babies, etc.  We used them for our Wedding Registry so it was natural I would use them for the baby too.  They have SO many more options than just BRU or Target, etc. and I like that I can add annotations such as "also available at Target" or "gently used/secondhand is fine".

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

I hope so.  He starts Spring Semester on January 11, so I don't think he'll be able to miss classes when she comes.  Luckily he's only in class on Mondays from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesdays 3-6 p.m.  He is pre-arranging with his professors to miss should I go into labor on one of those days though.  When he's not in school he waits tables at a high-end steakhouse 3-4 nights a week.  So I hope at least the first week Libby is home he'll be able to get someone to cover his shifts for him.  He'll be home during the day with us, regardless.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

At the beginning of the pregnancy I did, but not so much anymore.  Libby is ahead of the weight measurements given on BabyCenter and in books, etc.  I also have not felt her hiccup at all, which supposedly is supposed to happen daily.  I figure the milestones are just guidelines and everybody and baby is different.  I also plan not to do the whole "my baby..." comparison thing with other mommies.  Not productive at all.

    (9) For TTCers:  Which cycle are you on?  Where in the cycle are you?  What, if anything, are you doing to have success TTCing?

    (10) For mommies: Do you make time to GTG with girlfriends now that you have a LO?  How often? Is it Girl's Night Out or more of Mommy and Me play dates?

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    32w6d

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Feeling large.  Baby was head down for a couple days but I'm pretty sure she flipped back to breech.  Although, she may have flipped again today.  I think she's going to be a gymnast.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

Jan 6.  Having my first internal and I assume the GBS culture.  Then I think I go once a week after that.  Yikes!

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

I wish I had known that I would still have major body image issues and that I should have appreciated my body before I was pregnant.  I look back and realize how thin I was and I just hope I can get back there again.

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

No idea.  I don't have much that fits and I don't want to buy anything new.  Perhaps I will wear my new Uggs, though!  I got the gray Cardy Uggs.  =)

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

Target & Amazon.  My shower invites just went out so haven't gotten anything yet.  And actually, most of my family and friends don't know that I'm registered because I'll have another shower later after baby arrives.  We've received random other gifts, though, which is nice.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

He's self-employed so he'll just do work when he has time.  If I go back to work, he'll take care of her when I'm working.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

I haven't really worried about it since she's been measuring right on track all along.  I was happy to be behind the weight gain/bump size curve for most of my pregnancy...until a few weeks ago!  Now I've caught up and I'm not too happy about it.

BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers...link to your chart!

Me at 32 weeks (last week)...I cut off my head because I'm not loving the chubby face look at all!  At least my rings still fit, for now, huh?

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?
3 1/2 months! (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  Tired and stressed. Family all in town and staying at my house for 3 weeks. No sleep plus hosting & cooking for everyone is making me nuts.
    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
    4 month shots & check-up Jan. 11 (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

I do NOT wish I had known the things that have surprised me the most... Blowouts, assisted BMs and hair falling out. Those are the worst. There is nothing I wish I had known... It's all good. (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?

Christmas-colored Baby Legs. Photos to come... Alexa has not worn them yet! (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

I registered at Buy Buy Baby. I got tons off the registry. I was very happy with the registry services. I also registered for a few things on Amazon but that was after my shower invites went out so I didn't really get anything from there. It was mostly my way of keeping track of my "wish list" items. (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

DH took off one week when the baby was born, then one month (Oct) after my mom left. He's off for 2 more weeks (this week and next) over holidays. (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

I don't worry much. I don't have to. Alexa is a pro and is hitting them like a champ! In fact, all the other moms worry that their babies aren't doing the things that she is doing... Hee hee. Love my little superstar!  (10) For mommies: Do you make time to GTG with girlfriends now that you have a LO?  How often? Is it Girl's Night Out or more of Mommy and Me play dates?
YES! BOTH! I don't get together with the girls as much... But I have made time to go out on my own with my girlfriends for dinner. It's been a lifesaver. Mostly though, it's play dates for me. I have several good college friends who also have babies, plus new friends with babies and my mom's group... Between all my GTGs and mommy yoga days and other activities, we have a full schedule!

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    Seven months!

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Nothing huge. Brooke has been waking up in the middle of the night for NO REASON (I don't feed/change her at night anymore)... as soon as I picked her up, she would fall asleep. But last night she slept all the way through like she had been before!

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Follow up H1N1 in a few days

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."
    Hmmm... I don't know?

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK
I have no idea. I didn't buy anything special or whatever...don't really think about those things too much. I have a reindeer bib and a Santa onesie, but not sure if she'll wear it

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

Registered at Target... got lots of stuff. However, I feel that registering was sort of a waste of my time (unless there were VERY specific things you want)... you'll never know what your baby likes until the baby is here. For example, I registered for a swing at Target-- it was around $80. Turns out Brooke didn't like the swing at all, ever and ended up loving a $30 bouncer from a friend (we hadn't registered for a bouncer). The best gifts were diapers, wipes, burp cloths, ... essentials.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?
He took off a week, but ended up being off for about a month b/c of the economy (construction)

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?
Don't worry about them. I did, briefly, when she wasn't rolling over at exactly 4 months, but my pedi. said not to think about it until 5 months and she ended up rolling before then. (Plus she's kind of chubs so things may be delayed) :))) Now I don't worry at all about stuff like that

Most of my friends are on the mainland :( I occasionally go to dinner with friends that are in Hawaii, but it's rare.

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO? 21 weeks aaaaaaand...3 days, I believe.

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Feeling...kind of crappy, actually. I wrote a whole blog post about it, which I won't make you suffer through here lol.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Next checkup is Dec 30 - just a regular checkup. Then we're having another ultrasound on Dec 31 so they can check Twin B's heart again. The tech told me at the last scan not to worry, that bloodflow and heartrate were fine, but he just couldn't get a good view of it, so he wanted us to come back again. So I'm sure everything is fine, but of course now I'm secretly concerned that there will be something wrong.

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom." Hmmmmm. This is actually a tough question. If anything, sometimes I wish I knew LESS (especially about risks, etc.). I think I'd worry less then.

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)? Heh - whatever fits! I still don't have much in the way of maternity clothes...I literally wear the same 5 shirts during the week and a maxi-dress on the weekend. I really need to go shopping, but there's barely anything in the way of maternity clothing in my town (I've looked and looked). I can buy online but...eh......

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services? Nowhere. Although there are wedding registries here, I've never seen a baby registry - it just doesn't seem to be the done thing. That said, I have registered us with Amazon, mostly so I can use their Universal Registry function - it's a great way to keep track of all the things I see and like, even if it's not meant for people to actually use as a registry.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long? He gets a week of parental leave, and then we're hoping he'll be able to take 2-3 weeks of vacation time after that so he'll end up with a month or so off work. But we'll see how it goes!

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline? I do, mostly because the boys are sharing a placenta, so even though so far they've played nice and are growing at exactly the same rate, there's absolutely a chance that a twin-to-twin transfusion could start happening and one will end up basically stealing all of the food from the other and they'll develop unequally. I also worry because for some reason I feel the one on the left (Twin A) move WAY more than the one on the right (Twin B). I'm sure this just has to do with positioning at this stage, but it still worries me.

  • 1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

almost 6 months old (birthday is 6/26/09 - Lori can you add this to the list?)

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

she finally learned how to roll over and does it all the time now (tummy time is non-existent).  she's still incredibly fascinated with staring at her hand - its her favorite toy :)

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

6 month appt is next week.  hubby and I just got our H1N1 shots since our dr strongly urged us to (her husband's bf died from swine flu)

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

that time management occurs when baby is sleeping....

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

she'll probably wear a onesie that says "baby's first christmas", a red tutu, and a santa hat.

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

registered at amazon and babies r us.  pleased with services of both places

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

DH took 1 month off when she was 1 month old, while his parents stayed with us.  he also took a few days off during the first week.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

    general guideline.

    (9) For TTCers:  Which cycle are you on?  Where in the cycle are you?  What, if anything, are you doing to have success TTCing?

    (10) For mommies: Do you make time to GTG with girlfriends now that you have a LO?  How often? Is it Girl's Night Out or more of Mommy and Me play dates?

i've noticed most of my friends now are all moms!  i've told my husband that it feels like i'm dating again since i'm meeting all these new moms and babies...and going to different activities with them.

BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers...link to your chart!

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    26 weeks, 3 days

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

A little stressed due to the holidays and having a full work/entertaining schedule... but I think the worst is behind me and I'm feeling pretty good again.  My belly is round and a bit pointy these days... it's fun to see it finally taking shape!

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

    Early Jan for GD test.

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

I wish I had appreciated my body more.  Not only for how it looked, but for how strong and able it was.  I get winded so easily now, but still try to exercise a lot and hike once a week.  The experience just makes me appreciate how easy everything used to be for me.

I don't think there is any additional "information" that I wish I knew.  I already know too much just from reading stuff online!  At first, being overly informed stressed me out and caused me lots of unnecessary worry, so I've been happy to learn to relax and go with the flow as the pregnancy progresses.  I realize more what I can control and what I can't, and that is a lesson I will forever cherish.

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

Whatever makes me feel festive and cute that day.... which is probably just a fitted top and some jeans.

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

Amazon, but it's not a big registry.  Like others have said, it's hard to know just what your baby will and won't need and I don't want to load up on anything unnecessary.  I plan to stick to the basics at birth and add on from there.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

We haven't discussed it yet.  His schedule is somewhat flexible, though, so I don't anticipate it being a problem if we need some time off.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

As I mentioned earlier, too much pregnancy/baby information drives me nuts... which is odd since I am a researcher by trade.  I only read pregnancy books once a week to get a general sense of where I'm at and what the baby is probably doing, but I really try not to think too much about it.  Everyone is so different, after all.  I do get nervous at each doctor's visit, though, because that's when I allow myself to ask questions and worry.  My doc has always been very helpful and reassuring.

    (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

she was 6 weeks on Christmas Eve

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

I'm finally starting to feel a little more "normal" so to speak.  part of that is getting used to being "the milk machine" Wink and part of that is due to her sleeping longer stretches at night now so I am not so sleep deprived.  I also had some baby blues, and that is better now that my hormone levels are evening out.

A's big milestone this week is that she slept 6 hrs straight for 2 nights this week! :::happy dance::: and most of the other nights she would sleep for 3-4 hr stretches so that was great too.  those 2 hr naps in the middle of the night at the beginning nearly killed me Stick out tongue I'm hoping she will be STTN (5-6 hrs) consistently very soon! Big Smile

my own personal milestone is that I can now fit into my pre-PG jeans!!! I was a little sad when I tried them on around 4 wks and they wouldn't fit, even though I knew it was totally normal.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

her next appt isn't for a few more weeks - it will be her 2 month check up and vaccines

we leave in a few days so A can meet her great grandma (only surviving grandparent on dad's side of the family).  we'll celebrate New Year's there.  can't wait to have some good old homemade southern biscuits Wink

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

for PG there wasn't much I wish I had known..those PG weekly updates from the bump and babycenter.com seemed to keep me pretty informed.

as far as becoming a mom is concerned, I really wish I had known to prepare myself better for BF'ing.  I always knew I wanted to EBF, but I never realized it would be so hard.  I thought it was supped to come "naturally."

I knew that I would be waking up at all times of the night and would be sleep deprived, but I did not realize how hard it is on you (both physically and emotionally) in those first few days, esp if you are also dealing w/the baby blues.

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

nothing special - it's just the 3 of us.  A has a cute "my first Christmas" outfit she'll be wearing though :)

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

we registered at Buy Buy Baby and BRU - did not register at Target b/c I heard that if you want to return a gift there and do not have a gift receipt, they will only let you return a few registry items that way (even if it's marked as "purchased" on your registry)...there is some limit but I don't remember what it is. but I didn't want to deal w/that.

we did receive some things off our registries but a lot of people bought us other stuff too.  we had a few people surprise us by looking up our registry on their own and sending us gifts - that was very nice.

    no complaints w/either registry service.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

DH did take all of his vacation around the time of A's birth... some of his vacation was scattered, a day off here and there (he normally only gets 4 days off per calendar month and not always weekends or consecutive days) but he did have 7 consecutive days off the week before Christmas and he gets 5 consecutive days off next week.

he would have been able to take paternity leave but earlier in the year we thought he was going to "fast track" and do his residency in 2 yrs instead of 3 yrs and there wouldn't have been time for a leave in that case.  he's now decided to fast track through his fellowship and do a full residency instead, but it was too late to change his schedule at the last minute like that.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

not really, though I do try to pay particular attention to her growth (weight gain, etc) b/c it's the only real way for me to know if she is getting enough milk.  otherwise, I'm not too concerned about the other milestones like grasping, sitting up, talking, etc.  I know all babies are different and she'll develop at her own pace.  I'll only become worried if the pedi becomes worried.

    (9) For TTCers:  Which cycle are you on?  Where in the cycle are you?  What, if anything, are you doing to have success TTCing?

    n/a

    (10) For mommies: Do you make time to GTG with girlfriends now that you have a LO?  How often? Is it Girl's Night Out or more of

    Mommy and Me play dates?

once A is a little older, I definitely plan to take her on play dates so she can socialize and so I can get out a little.  I also go to Mommy's Night Out GTGs organized by my local nestie board.

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

Elyse is 12 days old today.

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Emotionally I'm doing pretty well.  I'm loving being a mom, I could stare at her all day long.  Each little coo and sneeze melts my heart.  I've been experiencing quite a bit of anxiety in the evenings/night time.  My doula and a friend who had her son 5 weeks before I had Elyse said this was normal, so I try to remember that it's my hormones when I'm getting worried.

Physically I'm feeling alot better.  One of my stitches popped a few days after I came home so it was really painful to move.  Luckily Russ brought her to me for all her night time feeds and my mom helped out alot too.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

Her first apt for shots will be in 2 months (Feb 11).  We still have regular apts with our midwife to get her weighed etc.  She was 7 pounds 6 ounces when she was born.  She was back up to 7 pounds 4 ounces 3 days ago, so she's gaining well.

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

I wish I had spent less time worrying about labour, breast feeding and managing with a new born.  I tend to build things up in my mind and catastrophize things.  For me labour was an amazing experience that has changed the way I think about myself.  The worst part for me was the stitching afterwards.  The freezing didn't work :(

I'm going to try to apply this going forward.  My doula said it best "don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you".

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

I wore a pre-pregnancy sweater - woo woo!  I did have to wear it with a nursing tank, and it was tight, but it was on!  Elyse wore a reindeer sleeper that was really hard to get her into, but we did it to humor my MIL.

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

People don't really do baby registry's where I'm from, but we did do one at a local store so family knew what to get us.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

Russ is off all of December.  He goes back to work Jan 4.

I mentioned my evening anxiety above.  Russ going back to work and not being at home with us is causing me a great amount of anxiety.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

I have to learn what the milesstones are....

    (10) For mommies: Do you make time to GTG with girlfriends now that you have a LO?  How often? Is it Girl's Night Out or more of

    Mommy and Me play dates?

I'm going to make a concerted effort to get out with friends and baby groups once I get the hang of our new life :)

We've been terrible at taking pictures of us/me and Elyse, mostly it's the grandparents.  I'll try to get some good ones up toon.

  • 1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    15w5d

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Boobs are getting tender again:(  and now my butt is getting wider and it is getting harder to wear my pre-pg pants with BB, but the only pair of maternity pants don't fit right either:(

I packed up a lot of my pre-pg clothes to put in storage so I could make room in the closet for maternity and baby stuff since it will be sharing a room with us.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

jan 5th for a normal OB visit then will schedule the big u/s for the end of jan

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom."

I wish I had known that we would not be able to acheive pregnancy on our own b/c that would have saved a lot of crying & anger spells.

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK

I just wore my maternity jeans and a sweater

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services?

We haven't yet but I assume we will register at target and BRU

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long?

He will take off the week it is born, but since it will be during the summer the kids will be home with me and will hopefully help or either drive me completely nuts :P

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline?

    Not yet

  • (1)  What week are you in/how old is your LO? week 32 tomorrow

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I am feeling pretty good.  I made sure not to over-do it during Christmas.  I usually make homemade cinnamon rolls for christmas morning and lots of other baking, but I skipped this year because the week before I hosted a party for 30 people and being on my feet cooking all day was not fun...

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? 32 week appt. tomorrow.  nothing interesting going on.

    (4) Fill in the blank:  "I wish I had known _________________ before getting pregnant/becoming a mom." hmmm... I'm not that surprised but I with I would have known just how often people ask personal questions.  Just because I'm visibly pregnant does not make me any less professional at work - I wouldn't ask my co-workers about their personal health, so I would rather they not ask about mine.  I'm fine with basic questions, but many people have no filters!

    (5) What are you wearing for Christmas (if you celebrate it)?  For mamas...what is your LO wearing?  Anything special?  BONUS: PIP or LINK I wore some tweed pants and a nice sweater to church on Christmas eve.  On christmas we are pretty casual - I wore sweater pants and a gap long sleeve (my uniform at home these days).

    (6) Were are/did you register?  Did/Have you receive(d) any items off your registry?  Are/Were you happy with the registry services? babies r us and amazon.  I got a lot off the babies r us registry - I specifically picked that place on my SIL's advice because it is the only option in their town and they are the only ones that planned a shower before the birth.  I also got a few things from amazon, but much of that stuff was just purchased locally (I put local store information in the notes section).  I didn't have to make any returns so I can't comment on customer service for that.

    (7) Will/Did DH take time off when the baby arrives/d?  If so, how long? he will take some time off.  He has tried not to schedule court dates or other stuff for about 2 weeks +/- my due date.  Otherwise he is kind of self employed, so if he isn't there he can't make money and although his partner is planning to cover his cases as necessary.

    (8) Milestones...do you worry if you're not meeting them (either in PG or with your LO)?  Or do you think of them more as a general guideline? no, not really.  For pregnancy, everyone is different.  My good friend is 2 weeks ahead of me and our pregnancies have been nothing alike.

BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers...link to your chart! yay!! I got a new camera for christmas (and a video camera  Big Smile

31w6d (taken this morning - sorry I cut my head off - I haven't taken a shower or put in my contacts - EEK scary, haha!)
