I hate boys.

Not my husband. And not really. I just estimate that I'll begin liking my BIL again in about 4 years. He's 18 and just started college and he has no respect for anybody. It drives me flipping insane. He really is a good kid and I love him . . . he just has it in his head that it's all about him and he knows everything right now.

Maybe it was just my school, but I never seemed like to any boys in college. I swear they don't grow up until they're 22 - 23. Am I crazy?

Re: I hate boys.

  • 22-23??  I didn't think that they grew up until closer to 30...and I am still wondering about the 36 year old that I live with!

But yes, I understand your frustration with him!

Ha! I think I was being a little generous because I know there are some women on the board who have husbands who are close to 23. There are of course exceptions!

I will say that my DH is one of the only mature 25 year olds I know.  But he has been since I've known him, he's had to work hard his whole life to get what he wants and I think thats part of the reason he is so mature.

Most of his friends are 28/29 and still not as mature as him!  Most of them are just starting to settle down and 'act right!'

  • Um... it doesn't change much w age, sorry!

DH is 43 and is still a kid at times.  I have succumbed to using my pointy elbow or a pillow when he gets annoying... but he does know when to keep his mouth shut-most of the time =)

  • Yeah, boys stay immature for quite sometime. DH finally has started to mature this last year, but all of our friends are still juvenile beyond belief. Really, I think there are some boys that wil never mature. And 18 - 21 is the worst age for boys!! They are super annyoing Mr. knowitalls and hotstuff.... w/e
  • I dont think that they ever grow up quite honestly.  They just get smarter about where their immaturity shows.  lol

Mine is 29 going on 11.

I am married to a 13 year old.  Le sigh.

And it deeply concerns me how immature men are allowed to be these days.  I'm not talking video games (although they are a bugaboo of mine).

It used to be expected of them that they have some sort of ambition, career path, character.  Now they are aimless teenagers indefinitley.  A good portion of J's friends (late 20's-early 30's) date teenage girls (18, 19) because they know a mature woman would expect more of them as opposed to being impressed simply that they have a car and (barely) a job.

And I know there are some crap girls out there, but for the most part, we're picking up the slack(ers).

Please see the 28 year old who is downstairs shooting zombies on his new wii.

AAAAH I really love that game.  Only one of them though...the other one sucks.  The one thats 2 & 3 I think is the one that I dont care for.  Dang...I wanna go home and play now.

  • Wait.  Boys are supposed to mature?  HA!

DH is 31 and still acts like a 13 year old.

  • N says that boys don't start to grow up 'til they're 30, and I tend to agree. I'm sure there are exceptions though!
  • DH has decided that 30 will be his "grown up" year. Before it was like 27 cause he wanted to have kids before 30, but it didn't take long after college for him to realize how soon that was lol! I'll let you know how that pans out in 4 years...
