spent $100 at the vet today...

and 80% went towards flea meds... not that my cats have fleas but apparently that's how one or both of them got tapeworms!

grrr.

gave the cats the tapeworm pills at noon before i fed them and came home after work to find a huge pile of half eaten food/vomit on the floor. i didn't see any pills in the pile but i still called the vet to inquire as to the effectiveness of the meds. they said we should be fine. guess we'll wait and see.

  • Poor things- de-worming is never fun. My cat puked after his pill, when I first got him, but it DID get rid of the worms. (WARNING- if they puke up the tapeworm- it's really gross, and you might have to help get it out- sorry if this is gross, but it's true; most just get digested though.)

thanks mrobin, a co-worker already warned me about this and it is totally skeeving me out! i have a pretty strong stomach- watch/read some gory stuff, but anything that deals with parasites/aliens/insects in a body (human or animal) completely scares the bejeeses out of me and give me the willies!!

  • OMG!  If my cat puked up a tapeworm I would die.  Sorry you are dealing with that!  ICK!
  • FWIW.....and for future need.....I use Dr Foster and Smith for flea meds. Quality, cheaper, no script needed, and free shipping! Also a good % back if you use ebates!

And yeah, worms are nasty.....good luck and I hope you get them without seeing them! lol
