Special Event Insurance?

A friend of mine is getting married at the Allan House but they require a $1 million dollar insurance coverage for the bartenders.  Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get this?  I used RVnuccio.com for my wedding 4 years ago but when I typed it in it said it would cost $550.00 and I know I didn't pay that.  Any ideas?

Re: Special Event Insurance?

  • Have you looked at WedSafe?  I've never used them, but it's the other company that comes to mind.

  • Is your friend bringing in outside caterers? If so, they might be able to provide the insurance and/or bartenders.  Our caterer had coverage that included the bartenders, so we didn't need separate coverage.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I would double check with JezcaM (she's an event planner) but my understanding is usually bartenders who have their own business or are with a caterer will be insured by their employer.

Are the bartenders friends of the bride/groom?  If so, are they TABC certified?  I would be extremely hesitant using anyone who isn't TABC certified or carried their own insurance.  JezcaM can give you more particulars on this.

She's mostly on the Austin Babies board but I'd page her.

I'm guessing that Tiffany's company is doing the bartending...

  • Oops! Sorry, Tiffany! I forgot you had a beverage company. Embarrassed

    (I hope I didn't insult you! I didn't mean to.)
