quick advice please?

I have an old friend from Albany who has been working all over the US, most recently New Mexico.  She is passing through town today and tomorrow, and said she'd call me between 1-2 and drop by (today).

Thing is, she hasn't called and I am feeling like I don't want to gtg.. I have to put DD down for a nap around 3 (she's sick too/super cranky), the baby is fussy, I have to pump, and I would die for a nap around 4 after I pump..

If she calls, what should I do?  Is it polite to cancel?  Should I just not answer?

I don't want to ignore her but I'll prob also be busy.. I figured she'd be here til 3 the latest and now I'm guessing she wouldn't even get here til 3 and I am dying from lack of sleep.  (In addition, I have had guests every day since Christmas, so I have not napped in a week and I can barely stay awake).  I would love to see her but not when I am a frazzled mess!!

Re: quick advice please?

  • I cancel ALL the time bc I'm tired, and I don't even have kids! Go for it!

  • Thanks.. I should have elaborated to say that I meant I wasn't going to sit there and watch the phone ring and not pick it up.. but if I need to go pump or nap or snuggle with my sick DD to get her to take a nap, I didn't want to have to take a phone with me...

I'm *SO* tired!  Heheh thanks :)
