need some input re: baby keepsake

some of you might remember my previous post about this glass keepsake:

well, we're getting ready to submit our order and need to decide a few things (we're getting one hand and one foot) so I thought I'd ask my favorite nesties for some input Smile

- should we get the pink or clear glass?

- should we get the cast by itself, or with the hole/hanging ribbon? I haven't really decided where we want to display these yet.

- should we etch on the back: (there is a 20 character limit)

       - My 1st Christmas (we took the impression on Christmas)

       - Annalise (top line) / 12.25.09 (2nd line)

       - Annalise (top line) / Christmas 2009 (2nd line) (I'd have to see if she could do this or not since it exceeds the limit)

       - Annalise Presley

       - other suggestions?

thanks!

Re: need some input re: baby keepsake

  • I think if you do something related to Christmas you should have the hanging ribbon so you could display it on your tree (or keep to pass down to her for her tree or something).

I'm not sure what other display options there though (like maybe a window box type thing?)

I like the pink glass the best - the clear glass probably looks nicer in person, but from the picture is looks kind of dull.

  • I love these and added them to my registry after you posted them the first time.

    My $0.02...

Get the hole/ribbon...that way if you do decide to hang them somewhere, you have that option.  You may choose to display them for now and in years to come hang them on the Christmas Tree, etc.

Personally, I'd get pink.  Then, if you have a boy next time you can get blue or if you have another girl get the clear.

For etching I like Annalise/Christmas 2009 if they can do it or Annalise/12.25.09

I cannot wait for you to report how they turn out...I hope someone buys them for us.  If not, I may just have to splurge!

  • I like the pink and I don't think I'd get the holes. I'd probably display them in a shadow box of some sort with her favorite baby toy or her homecoming outfit or something tiny from her first few weeks of life... Where did you find these and how much are they? I love them!
  • I'd vote for the pink one because I think the colored ones look better than the clear one. And I'd also vote for getting the hanging hole and ribbon so you have that option for hanging it. I think I would look nice hanging from somewhere in the nursery, on the door to the nursery or on your Christmas tree. For the etching, I like the one with her name and the date on it. If you have room, you can maybe also put her age on it. But I'm guessing that you're probably limited to only two lines? In that case, I'd go with the date then. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

  • I like the pink! And I would probably go with the hole & ribbon too....hanging them on your tree next year is a great idea.

    For the etching, how about:

    Annalise Presley (first line), and

    Baby's 1st Christmas (second line)?

Just my two cents as well!

  • I like the pink and the idea of the ribbon/hole for hanging.

Annalise/12.25.09 is what I would get.

Just my 2 cents.  These are SO CUTE!  It's a great keepsake!

This. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
