Re: NYE

  • H is working and I am going over to a friends house.
  • No idea yet, but probably nothing exciting.  Anything with friends would involve driving an hour east or west, and we're not fans of driving on NYE.  We'll probably just relax at home which will be nice considering we just got back from 8 days in TX and have to work until Thursday.

  • I have no idea yet.  Our friends usually have a HUGE party that involves a large christmas tree maze, tents, djs, and a fireworks display that sets him back 20 or so K but his wife tries to talk him out of it every year and I think she may win the battle this time.  We will just have to wait and see.
  • We're having a party with our friends this year at our place. It will be interesting to see how it works out, our apt is only like 800 or so sqft : )

  • Not sure yet.  We have tentative plans to spend NYE with friends at their new house, but we think they just moved in right before Christmas (haven't heard from them yet) so they may not be up to having people over.  We always do NYE dinner with my parents.  But, this may all be moot anyway because the weather is supposed to be bad NYE.  I hate driving around NYE, and if bad weather is added on top of that, DH and I may just spend the night at home.

  • We decided to have friends over to our place. We didn't want to drive on NYE and we have friends from WV coming down here on Wed to visit into the new year, so we figured a party at our place was best. Our one friend said he's bringing fireworks, so that should be fun!
  • Walking across the street to our neighbor's house for a party... Every year since I've met DH (we're on year 5 of this) THIS is what we've done.  This year, I don't believe we have the kids, but it doesn't much matter, anyway.

We'll play pool, Guitar Hero, etc... and stumble on home.

  • We'll be back in MA. I think we're going out for a drink and appetizers early in the evening and then maybe going to my friend's house for the rest of the evening to drink delicious beers.

  • We were invited to a party nearby, but we don't have a local babysitter.

And I'd almost rather stay home.

  • We're staying home, and we plan on having sexy time, LOL We might not make it til midnight, though!
  • Going to a concert! Girl Talk at the Congress Theater ... it's going to be a hot mess and I can't wait for it!
  • Seems DH made plans for us at a friends house whome I've never met...So I will be really shy and uncomfortable all night :( Plus since we are going out one of us wont be able to drink...

Cabbing it wont work. Even though PHX is the 5th largest city, our transit system SUCKS. the train only runs so late and goes so far. ANd 2 NYE ago, we called a cab at 1 am and they said it wouldnt be to us til 5 IN THE MORNING! F that S, I need my sleep!

  • Most likely heading to a friend's house, where D will drink a LOT and I will have to drive his sorry a$$ home (EARLY, as I do not anticipate being able to make it til 12). Wink

  • We're going to Napa!
  • We have been going to my Best friends house for the last 3 years, and will be going again. SHe has 2 small kiddies, so its just easier. And, they live abiout 7 blocks away so we can get smashed and walk home ;) We go out in the street and bang pots and pans and set off illegal fireworks, good times.

  • We were invited to a friend's party, but we'll probably only go if DH's GM goes. GM gets upset when people ditch him cause dec 30th is his bday!! What a crappy bday! I hope my future children aren't born on or close to a major holiday! So we'll do whatever he wants, the friend having the party isn't super close anyway.
  • Not 100% sure yet, I kinda want to stay home and just watch movies.Embarrassed

  • Staying home. We'll be having a couple friends over, and probably just veg, eat pizza and watch movies on DH's new Blu-ray (I'm told I got big awesome wife brownie points, lol). Maybe a board game or too...we're real excitin' people, lol. But one friend is pg, her husband doesn't drink, I don't drink like I used to since we started TTC, so it won't be too bad. Plus I think DH got cured of drinking just to get drunk on Halloween (he felt so terrible about it b/c we were hosting a party, he was the only one drunk, and he was so sick he couldn't even say good bye to our friends before they moved to California).
