A "little" update :-)

I had my Dr.?s appointment yesterday ? things are looking good! Now I begin my weekly trips over there?

While the Dr. was measuring my bump & feeling for LO and I asked him if she was head down ? she is?then I asked ?how does that work? I thought this [pointing to large bump located under-the-right ribs] was her bum? - it is?and he started laughing. Dr. says by the looks of things she?s going to be long but not a chubby-bunny?at frist! Apparently LO is going to be a long like her daddy!! Wooooo Hooooo

So far I?ve gained a total of 30lbs and from my appt. 2 weeks ago I gained only ? a pound (yes even with all the pigging out during Christmas dinners) hence why the Dr. feels that she won?t be a chubb-chubb. It seems to be a trend with those who?ve seen me yesterday/today, they say that I look like I?ve popped and that bump looks to be lower. I?ll take their word for it since everything looks the same to me! I?m going to take a few bump pics tonight to compare Big Smile

My e-ring & wedding bands are getting tight now and I wouldn?t make it through the day without my Zantac!!! DH has finally hit the awkwardness point towards ?bedroom time? ? he says now he can SEE that she?s there and it?s ?weirding? him out. I pointed out to him that for now I understand and respect his feelings but if there is no progress by 38 weeks ? he has NO choice! lol

I?m also starting to doubt that having MIL in the L&D room with us as a good idea. She?s been in a bad mood and taking it out on everyone & to be honest pissing me right off. DH and I discussed that we?ll tell her that the nurses need to do some-sort-of-a-procedure on me and only DH can be in the room, we?ll call her back in once it?s ok ? maybe giving a couple of hours ?break time? will help?! We?ll see. In the end if she?s bothering me I?ll ask for my cousin to come in and she has no choice but to leave, I?ll be nice or course but it?s about me & LO at that moment.

So that?s about it, I think!

I hope you?re all doing well and ready to bring on a New Year! Party!!!

  • I had no idea you were thinking of having your MIL there. You can always kick her out but I seriously doubt that you will want her there. Totally have one of the nurses do it so it isn't on you or your husband.

I gained 17lbs during pregnancy and Ben was 8lbs8oz.  They told me he was going to be 6lbs based on u/s and how much I had gained. Looking back now they are always so wrong about this kind of stuff.

After I wrote the post it came to me that if a nurse says it we can't be blamed Stick out tongue - I don't know what I was thinking, it was the "I'm Pregnant....YAY" high Tongue Tied

He told my GF, baby is aprox. 8lbs - also no u/s, when baby came out at 11lbs 12oz it was a BIG surprise! lol

  • Holy moly that is a big baby. My lady bits hurt just thinking about it.

Just pull the nurse aside when you first get there and make sure he/she knows the plan. Maybe come up with a signal even that way if you just want her (or anyone else) out they can do it for you.

big babies turn out to be really awesome people, no judging Stick out tongue

I wouldn't want my MIL there either, I love her and all, and we get along, but it seems like way to private of a moment to open up to that many people. If you're sure you don't want her there I'd tell her now. Or just don't call them until after baby is born.

Our U/S 3 weeks before Austin arrived told us he was 6lbs something, probably around 8lbs when born.  He came out 11lbs 7oz.  Yes, definately a big suprise, but worth it.
