What's your health/fitness goal for 2010?
I checked in on SparkPeople today and everything!
My goal is to lose 15 lbs. I haven't really set a time limit on it... I just want to get there. My clothes haven't been fitting very well lately (if at all) and a trip to the outlet mall to buy new clothes was just depressing. So eating healthy and exercising starts today! DH and I are going to the gym tonight after I get home from work and we're going to work harder at eating healthy meals again. I would also like to set a goal of walking the dogs more and maybe (gasp) even getting into running. I'm so jealous of everyone who runs or rides bikes. I've never enjoyed exercising (unless you count ballet, which I'll be taking twice a week starting in late January) but I really want to. I feel like i owe it to myself to get healthier before we start TTC.

I've only got about 5 pounds to lose, but the way I need to lose it is by a lot of cardio and redeveloping muscle mass. I've only gained 5 pounds, but I lost a lot of muscle and gained a lot of fat (all in the tummy) and now even my "fat" pants don't fit. I'm really uncomfortable at work in my work clothes. So we're going to cook more and I'm going to get back doing cardio 3 times a week. Also, once the days get longer, I definitely want to start walking the dog more often. He deserves it.

It can't be a coincidence that "I Like Big Butts" came on my stereo right as I got out of the shower yesterday. So, I'll be working on toning and losing weight by actually working out in addition to eating pretty well (which I'm pretty good at now).

That reminds me that DH brought home the Wii Fit from his school for the holidays! I need to get my butt on that thing!

i still want to lose another 5-10 lbs to get me back to my college weight.
hubby and i have plans to start running together now that he'll finish school in january. i want to be able to run a full 5k (i did one this year but jogged/walked). and we'd also like to do a 10k in 2010.
I am going to be posting weight loss check ins on the baby board, if anyone is interested. I meant to start in December, but with the holidays, it all pretty much went to poo.
There are a lot of nesties who expressed an interest in on-going weight loss/fitness check ins, so we're going to start posting those on Fridays, beginning this week on New Year's Day.
For 2010, I want to:
- breastfeed all year (I count that as a health goal since it's healthy for my baby, it requires me to eat good, and I burn extra calories while nursing
) - ideally lose about 50 pounds (I was overweight when I got pregnant)
- get back into the habit of walking/jogging several times a week + lifting weights, doing yoga again
- run a 5K sometime this year.
Unfortunately, the exercise is on hold until I can get some new tennis shoes that fit my newly wide feet. Apparently I am doomed to have longer, wider feet after each pregnancy.Meredith, 6-1-06 and Alex, 11-5-09
check out the EA active game - it's pretty cool and I actually broke a sweat, as opposed to the wii fit where I did not.
you have the option of using the balance board, too, but it's not necessary. I really liked the 30 day challenge, it motivated me to workout.
The Wii Active is how I lost my first ten pounds! I totally love it and they have come out with a new one callee Wii Active more workouts or something like that!!!
that's awesome! the "more workouts" was on my christmas list but I didn't get it - I bought it last night on amazon!
Awesome!!!! This just convinced DH to go out tomorrow and get me the EA wii active tomorrow! whoot.
