Who has a keurig?

I got one for christmas and I love it but I have a couple of questions.

1) What is the cheapest place to buy the k-cups? $10 for 18 cups of coffee is OK, but i was wondering if there was anywhere cheaper.

2)For whatever reason sometimes ours doesn't brew a full cup even when we press the large cup button.. I looked in the manual and it said something about cleaning it, but its BRAND new.. I don't think it really needs to be cleaned..and it only does it sometimes, not every time.. Anyone else have this trouble?

Re: Who has a keurig?

  • A 'full cup' will depend on the size of cup.  You might want to measure the ounces and see if you're getting the actual liquid amount you're supposed to.  I've used a few Keurig machines and they never fill the cup completely full (leaving room for spillage, cream, etc).

  • Hey! I also just got one for Xmas - as for the cup size - I noticed that it doesnt fill all the way as well, but I put alot of milk in my coffee so, the size works out well for me.

As for the Kcups - make sure to look for the registration material that came with the coffee maker... if you register your brewer on their website, and buy two boxes of Kcups (20 or more per box) then you get two boxes free - plus free shipping... I got 4 boxes  of KCups for $25.00

Otherwise, I just got a box of 18 Kcups at Wegmans for $7.49, and I have also seen KCups (before I got my Keurig) at Xmas Tree Shop

  • I just got one for Christmas too!  I've seen the reusable k-cups around (in grocery stores, etc.).  You fill them with whatever you want.  So you can get your own ground coffee and use that - it might work out to be cheaper.

  • My parents have a keurig, and get their coffee at Bed, Bath and Beyond (and use the 20% coupons) or at BJ's.

  • I order them to be delivered to my work through W.B. Mason- way cheaper than the grocery store or even Sam's Club. You can catch them on sale about once a month or so (they don't deliver them to residences though.)
  • You ladies rock. Thanks for all the great tips on where to find the kcups! And I'll definitely register mine online and use that discount!

As for the cup being full.. even if I use the same cup, sometimes it will fill almost right to the top and other times it will be like 1/2 full.. I'll have to keep trying to figure it out.. Its baffling.

  • Did you check amazon.com?

Also you don't have to get just Keurig brands.. at least we didn't at the place I used to work (We used a variety of brands with a Keurig).

  • You won't like this.....but Kohls has them pretty cheap when on sale, even better if you have a Kohls charge and 30% off!
  • We got one as a wedding gift and LOVE IT!  We order our k-cups through greenmountain.com.  They have a club membership (it's free) that saves you and the shipping is free.  We love it because there are a lot of different flavors of coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Ours has three different size settings....  I usually brew one k-cup twice for a full cup on the smallest setting and it does not taste weak at all.

  • We order our cups from amazon. also try places like Bj's or Sams club. We also just got the Reusable one so you can just add ground coffee into it.

    Love the Keurig :)
