Re: New Here to the Boards
Welcome to the board!
Welcome to the board!
If you want to PM me I can give you some advice regarding TTC. There are a few other girls on the board who are also dealing with IF so between me and them we would be able to guide you in the right direction and support you! I noticed you were 36, so they will be able to start testing after 6 months for you, which should be right around now.
If you don't know how to PM, at the bottom of each response there is the word "contact". Click on it and select "send a private message".
I hope to hear from you!
Welcome! I"m 36 as well and just had our 1st little one last Tuesday, 12/22. Have you charted at all? Many suggest this book http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-Your-Fertility-Achievement/dp/0060950536
I personally had not charted. I had attempted to use online tools, entering the info of my last period and length of cycle. needless to say, it was off by about a week i think, but it gave me a general idea at least. We ended up conceiving the month I decided to take a break and not pay attention to when we should be trying and stressing about getting pg. We had tried off and on for about 2 years with various extended breaks. I did have a full blood work up to make sure I still was able to conceive and if there was any problems. My results came back right where they should be for my age my Dr. said. We planned on having Dh tested next.
Now if you know you already have issues such as PCOS, then that definitely changes things as to how long to try without success and which all Dr. to see first. Most ladies on here that have used IVF or other assistance to conceive, I believe have had PCOS or similar issues.

Welcome to the board & good luck with TTC! To answer your question in my post (and thank you for the congrats, by the way!) - we didn't keep it from family, so that made it a little easier. We found out at 4w exactly, and I told my best friend/DH told his at 5w2d, then we told our parents at 5w4d/5w6d. We figured these were the people we wanted to know if something were to happen anyway, so we wanted their support in the early days. We planned to wait until 12w to tell the extended family, but this is the first grandchild on both sides, so our parents were dying to tell... because of them, we ended up telling extended family on Thanksgiving Day, at 8w4d.
So... long story short, we kept it secret from the general public until we heard/saw a HB. Not as miraculous a feat as it sounded originally!
... every single day of forever.
