NYE plans?

I can't remember if we already discussed this.

Re: NYE plans?

  • What up lurkers.

We're still up in the air. We're trying to avoid this annual thing we usually end up going to. Surprisingly DH told me he'd be okay with staying in with a pizza and The Office DVDs.

  • We haven't decided either.  We usually end up visiting some friends but it sounds like they will be going out this year and we prefer to keep it low-key.  I'm thinking we might try out the fondue pot we got as a wedding gift and still haven't used.  DH has to work until 8:30 and then again the next morning so our options are kind of limited.

  • No clue! We don't want to go to the party we were invited to 70 miles away, and our best friends are out of town until next week, so we might be staying in. But that would be boring. :( We do that every night. Sigh.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • Our annual thing is a house party with DH's friends that I'm not a fan of.  This year a few of his best friends (the one's I actually like) aren't going to be there so we are avoiding that one.

My next plan was a ski trip with my best friend and her SO in WVa (its about half way between both of us) but no hotel rooms were available (I came up with the plan on Saturday - its not super surprising) and we decided it was too expensive to rent a cabin.

At this point, i think we might be staying home and renting some movies.  Sounds exciting huh?

  • We will be on a plan somewhere between Detroit & Tokyo. I am hoping for free champagne at the very least.
  • We do the low-key thing with close friends.  Last year we all worked together and made a huge dinner.  This year I think we're ordering Chinese.  I think there will be 6-8 of us this year which is a perfect amount!  We usually play board games and may bust out the Guitar Hero as well.

  • We'll be staying in.  DH has to work super early the next morning...a duty day on top of that (he stays overnight every third night).  He'll be turning in early.  I probably will be asleep before midnight too.  We're old.  And lame.

  • Don't know yet either. I told DH we should go out since it will be the last year for a while we can go out. He also wants to go see Avatar, so maybe we'll do dinner and movie. We have a wedding the 2nd, so we could treat that as our New Year's. The reception is where my high school prom was, wonder if they've changed the place any.

  • Hmm, going to the movies sounds good. Around here, dinner out means reservations weeks in advance and fixed, expensive menus. But dinner at home and then a movie might work.

  • Last year we had 2 couples over representing a nation for some tournament games. Since last year both couples are now divorced so it's just the two of us.  We are thinking of making a fancy dinner and hanging out.
  • Not sure yet.

    Maybe low key?

Maybe party on New Years Day at the Mummers.

  • Hanging out at home :)

It's how we spent our first NYE living together (2006-2007) and had an amazing night. We played video games, cards, and made pasta dinner.

    So, that's the plan.

  • We were looking for something to do, and got invited to a party. The party is at a bar called The Hut, klassy huh? We will not be attending that. J invited some friends over, as did I. If they show up great, if not, who cares. We will play bored games and make some app type food. Either way it will be fun.

  • We are planning on going out downtown with a bunch of our friends... nice dinner and drinks afterwards. We got invited to a house party of some of our friends, it's a bring your own appetizer and we'll supply the booze sort of thing.... We assumed they had invited lots of people, but when they called yesterday, they only invited 4 couples other than themselves... 2 of which i know aren't going... thier neighbors are the only confirmed guests... i feel a bit sorry for them. I have a feeling its going to be very boring.
  • Homemade pizza and staying in with the season of Dexter I bought for DH
  • B and I are heading into Boston for a Mad Men party.  Should be a shiit show.
I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
