Poll; The Last Decade
On the Pgh. board one of the girls posted this & I figured I'd do it over here too. Tell us about the last decade of your life. School, travel, marriage, death, pets, sports, etc.
2000 - I bought a condo in Long Beach, CA. Worked for Sbux, ran a business selling sex toys and went to school full time. I also went to Germany by myself that summer. My BF moved in with me. And I started talking to ex-bf again. Went to Vancouver, Canada.
2001 - I sold my condo to my BF. Moved to Pittsburgh for some change & to see about ex-BF. Lived w/ some crazy roomies in a cool house. Left Sbux. Worked 2 jobs & partied A LOT. Eventually moved in w/ ex-BF, making him new BF again. spent 4 days in Vegas w/ West Coast friends celebrating my 21st birthday. Went to Cali.
2002 - Worked, partied, worked, partied. Went back to Sbux. Got engaged! Went to Niagra Falls & back to Cali.
2003 - Bought a house. Went back to school. Got 2 kitties. Planned the wedding. Got pregnant & had m/c. Went to New Orleans & back to Cali.
2004 - Got married! Went to Costa Rica. Moved to Las Vegas. Got another kitty.
2005 - Separated from DH, got back with DH. Worked for the Chippendales. Gambled away a *** load of money. Went to Mexico, Cali. & Pittsburgh. Got pregnant & had m/c. Steelers won the SuperBowl!
2006 - Came to NC to visit DH who had moved here for a job. Finally moved to NC. Drove across country w/ my mom in her 18 wheeler.
2007 - Went to Japan, Seattle, Cali.& Pittsburgh. Got pregnant & had m/c. Spent a lot of time working on my marriage & finding life in NC.
2008 - Went to Asheville, Cali, Pittsburgh, Dominican Republic. Decided to really try for a baby.
2009 - Celebrated 5 years married & finally being happy. :-) Left Sbux for good, after 9+ years. Steelers won the SuperBowl & Penguins won the Stanley Cup! Went to Pittsburgh 3x, Cali 2x, Munich, Amsterdam, Denver, Savannah, Mexico and Portland, OR. Started seeing an RE.

Well this will keep me occupied for a little bit!
2000 - I was a finishing junior starting senior in high school. My life revolved around swimming, drinking, and boys. I also lost my first grandparent in 2000.
2001 - I graduated high school and started college. I also turned 18 the summer of '01. I got my eyebrow pierced, tongue pierced, and added ten extra holes to my head. I chopped my hair short, dyed it red, and dropped out of college. I moved in with two girlfriends back in our hometown and began hanging out with a random crowd over Christmas break....including this quiet kid named Tim. First sister got married same day as Prom.
2002 - Started dating Tim on January 7th and haven't been apart since. Worked a few jobs here and there but basically partied and drove back and forth to see Tim at school so frequently I couldn't work. I drifted aimlessly that year. Finally big sis decided I needed to move in with her down in MD to get my *** together, it worked.
2003 - Went to visit a friend in FL with boyfriend. Worked two jobs and went to school part time in MD to get my grades back up and got into college with boyfriend for fall semester. Moved into off campus housing and back to school full time that fall.
2004 - Spring of '04 was very uneventful. Fall of '04 I lost my Grandma in September and in November I had a blood clot and a pulmonary embolism. This of course yanked me out of school for the rest of the semester but I of course made it up no problem in spring of '05. Also, that Christmas my then boyfriend proposed and of course I said yes. Second sister got married in July.
2005 - Graduated college in the spring, went to Italy with Tim in the spring, married in the fall, and bought our first house in the fall.
2006 - This was a very mellow year. We both worked except we made a big decision to add on to our family. We got our Maddie, golden retriever puppy, in March. My first neice was born. DH lost his other Grandpa this year.
2007 - Big things in '07. In September of '07 we sold our house and moved three weeks later to NC. It was/still is the best decision we ever made. DH got laid off but luckily and quickly found a new job. Went to a wedding at a ski resort in western PA.
2008 - I got my first full time job ever in '08 and am still here. Dh changed jobs after getting a much better offer. Went to Asheville and the beach in DE and NC. My first nephew was born but I also lost my other Grandma.
2009 - Went to the beach twice during the winter months. Had our four year anniversary and decided to try for a baby. We were successful but lost the baby at 7 weeks. DH did go back to school this past spring. We both ended up in the hospital with food poisoning and BIL got hit by a car. DH lost his first Grandma this year as well.
I'm usually very glass half full but recent events have brought me down a little. I'll get it back thoug haha!
Cool idea! Let's see what I can remember...
2000: Finished up my sophomore year of high school and started my junior year.
2001: Still in high school, biding my time until I could get out of my home town south of Atlanta.
2002: Graduated from high school and moved to Greensboro, NC to start college at UNCG. Met my now DH in a coffee shop in passing (he started to hit on me but then found out I was a freshman at the school he was working at...dated several guys from then until we actually got together). Became an RA. Traveled to Aruba with my dad and sister.
2003: Spent the summer traveling around NC and VA with an arts and sciences camp job. Lost my Pa, first grandparent to die.
2004: Broke up with the guy I had dated for the previous year. Lived in Raleigh that summer and had an intership with the state. New BF moved to Chicago and we diecided to see how things went.
2005: Move to Chicago for the summer for an internship at a house muesum. Had my own apartment but pretty much lived with BF.
2006: Trip to Costa Rica with BF. Graduated from UNCG and took a job with the state in Raleigh. BF moved back to NC from Chicago and moved in with me. Bought a house late that year.
2007: Getting house in to move in shape (it was a fixer upper in every sense of the phrase). Moved in April. Got engaged in May. Hated my job.
2008: Got married. Decided to go back to school full time to change career paths.
2009: Both of DH's grandmothers died. He was very fortunate to have all four grandparents for 32 years. Spent half of the summer doing a study abroad in South America. Helped me clarify my own personal and career goals. Currently finishing up my masters and applying to PhD programs.
2000: said goodbye to my grandma - we were very close, started dating DH, visited NYC for the first time, graduated high school, learned valuable lessons about friendship, started university with no idea of what to major in
2001: went camping for real for the first time (haven't gone again since) in the mountains of Maryland, ditched my crappy friendships, broke up with DH, started dating DH again, broke up again, met my best girlfriend, started dating DH again, declared a major in journalism, road tripped to Oglebay, W.Va. for the pretty Christmas lights
2002: visited Toronto and Niagara, moved into my first apartment, visited Niagara again, decided to graduate a semester early, which meant a lot of this year was spent with my nose in textbooks
2003: got used to having a long-distance BFF, visited said BFF in Orlando (and visited DisneyWorld), visited NYC for my 21st birthday, decided to move to NC after DH's family decided to relocate their business, moved into my second apartment, became kitty-mommy to Rocky the hellcat, graduated with my degree in journalism, missed my last week at university because I was horribly sick in bed.
2004: interviewed, was offered and accepted my first professional job, moved to NC and moved in with DH, spent much of the year pining for life in Ohio, signed the papers to start having our house built, spent thanksgiving with BFF in Orlando (and visited DisneyWorld)
2005: said goodbye to my second grandma, moved into our house, took in the sweet neighborhood stray dog and named her Lucky, watched DH's best friend become a dad and met one of the sweetest little girls I know, deliciously quit my first professional job and moved to my second, got engaged, set a date for the wedding and started planning, made some friends in NC finally
2006: learned a lot about nascar, planned the wedding, was a bridesmaid for the first time when two of our best friends got married, made even more kick-ass friends in NC (thank you, knot and nest!)

2007: got married, went to mexico for the first time, bought a boat, went to kentucky for BFF's bridal shower, went to florida for BFF's wedding
2008: continued collecting great e-buddies, went back to mexico, left professional job #2 and started professional job #3, ditched the birth control
2009: started charting my cycles, was a guest on a tv show and met a couple cool famous people, visited boston, started seeing an RE, lost my job, got pregnant, had an early m/c, said goodbye to my uncle

2000: Finished my first year of high school - started sophomore year, got rid of a loser I for some reason thought I was in love with, got heavily involved in church, started some of the best friendships I still have today
2001: baby bro number 3 is born, finished 10th grade, start 11th, go to my uncle's wedding on Long Island which was fabulous and the first wedding I really remember all moments of, 9/11 happens
2002: start senior year, I get my driver's license!!!, anddd...that's it? haha
2003: In Feb. two close friends set me up with this guy named Nick for senior prom, we decide we should get to know each other, by March we're dating. by june I'm head over heels in love. (awww). graduate from high school - and get sad about leaving some of my besties for college. start college!
2004: survive first year of college and dorm life and a long distance relationship, get my first real non babysitting job working on a campaign, realize politics is not for me despite my love of The West Wing
2005: more college, get awesome job working in a museum and figure out this is the life for me b/c I love old things, buy my first car all on my own! - can now visit my darling boyfriend in Atlanta whenever I want!
2006: more college, more museum job, miss boyfriend even more because he goes to CA for the spring and then Europe for the summer. visit CA for spring break, sadly don't go to Europe to visit, but cement my relationship some of the best girlfriends one could ever ask for and have an all around glorious summer with my girls travelling on the east coast, graduate from college in Dec. (3.5 years!!!), go see my lovely boyfriend of 3 years graduate from college in Dec., go on awesome yay we graduated vacation to the Bahamas with BF, move to Chapel Hill
2007: start graduate school at UNC, move to Portsmouth, NH for the summer to intern at a musuem and live in a 300 year old house for free, my awesome boyfriend moves up to Boston to intern at a company up there, have a glorious summer of New Englandness and being close to my mom's family (and my best cousin!), move to Raleigh, start another graduate program at NCSU, make some super amazing friends, start thinking seriously about BF and my future, BF moves to Raleigh and starts graduate school at NCSU
2008: go on spring break trip to CA with BF to visit old college friends, my grandpa's cancer worsens and I lose my first grandparent in May - spend an unexpected week in Boston, go to Hawaii with one of my best friends (her dad's family lives there!!) for a week, it's awesome!, go to several weddings at the end of May/beginning of June, get engaged on June 14!!!!, wedding planning mania starts, I work two awesome jobs over the summer working with more old stuff
, I graduate in Dec. with my first graduate degree and FI! finishes his degree as well.
2009: wedding planning mania continues, I start back up on my UNC master's degree, FI decides we should buy a house, we start house hunting, find a house in Feb, close in April, get married in June!, go on fabulous European honeymoon to Germany and Greece in July, come home - am half unemployed for four weeks, then start job and school back in August....and now it's Dec. 30!
2000 - Finished my freshman, started my sophomore year in HS. Lost my virginity to my first serious BF. Got caught sneaking that BF into my house at night. Compound fractured ulna & radial bones during a gymnastics competition - still got judged. Had plates & screws put in my left arm. Broke up with that BF, started dating a new guy, broke up with him and started dating his best friend. Tried smoking weed for the first time.
2001 - Finished sophomore year and began junior year in HS. Sponsored in snowboarding downhill, flown out to CO. Still with same BF.
2002- Finished Junior year and began Senior year of HS. Lost one of my best friends. Got my first tattoo in his honor. Got my license. Still with same BF.Made varsity gymnastics.
2003 - Graduated HS and moved to NY for college. Partied, partied, partied. Told by BF that I was "1 too many bags to take to school with him". Got back together with him and broke up with him again. Met DH. Tried to get with DH but he was hung up on someone else. New BF who proposed after 2 months via text message. Broke up with him.
2004 - Feshman & sophomore year in college. Partied, partied. Started dating new guy. (tom) Found out he was cheating. Started dating DH. Broke up with DH and went back out with previous BF Tom. Went on fabulous cruise throughout the Caribbean. Started cheering at school.
2005 - Sophomore & Junior year. Still with Tom. Started hanging out with Dh again. In a terrible accident - jeep totaled. Got a new Jeep, hit while parked by a drunk driver after having it for 2 months. Got a new jeep. Another Caribbean cruise. Went to FL with friends from college. partied & drank. Continued cheerleading.
2006 - Junior & senior year of college. Turned 21. Tried absynth. Started dating DH. Went to FL with my family. Had plates & screws taken out of my arm.
2007 - Senior year of college and Grad school. Went to FL with DH and his family. Graduated with degree in psych. Got second bachelors in interdisciplinary studies. Moved in with DH. Got engaged. DH went back to school. Had to say goodbye to my Pop.
2008 - Continued with grad school. Worked as a gymnast instructor. Planned our wedding. Went to Ocean City with Dh and my family. Got Colby!!
2009 - DH graduated. Graduated with masters in education. Got married. Bought a house in NC. Moved to NC. Got knocked up.
2000 - Junior/Senior year of College. Celebrated the New Year in a bar in Los Angeles with my BFF. Had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones. Dad's mother died of cancer.
2001 - graduated with my B.S. Moved to Boston for 3 months with my friend, had a big falling out and couldn't find a job, so moved back home and found a job & apartment in Greensboro. Worked nights in a microbiology lab. Rescued Bobo from a shelter.
2002 - Landed HR Specialist job in Wilmington, and moved here without knowing anyone. Made friends with my neighbors. Met DH (a co-worker), started dating DH.
2003 - same job, still dating DH, he gets promoted and transfered to Jacksonville for his job, we see each other a few times a week.
2004 - moved in with a roommate to save $$ and try to get out of debt. DH gets transferred to Myrtle Beach. Massive, crazy, awful break-up with DH that fall, started running again and lost 40 lbs, ran a 10K, ran about 30 miles/week. Partied a bit.
2005 - partied more w/ roommate and new group of friends. Epic bachelorette party in Charleston for a friend. Landed new job as HR Generalist. Moved into new house with my roommate. Went through a man-hating phase. Kind of started dating someone new, very casually.
2006 - same job. DH called for 3 months and tried to get back together, finally gave in and agreed to go on a date with him at end of March. Older sister got married in Ft. Lauderdale, DH attended wedding with me. DH put in for a job transfer to Wilmington to show he was serious. DH moved in with roommate & me late fall. Went to Indianapolis, IN in October for my college friend's wedding.
2007 - DH & I got engaged in February, bought first home together in June. Planned wedding all year. Same job. Awesome trip to NYC for another college friend's "platinum wedding."
2008 - Bridal showers, bachelorette party, etc. Got married in April, went to Puerto Vallarta for honeymoon. Rescued Cocoa from shelter. Worked on house upgrades. Same job.
2009 - Same old, same old. Still married, same job, 2 dogs, working on house upgrades, thinking about getting my teaching license in middle grades or high school biology, DH is up for another promotion, started TTC, started 101 in 1001 blog, planning some travel

2003: Worked a lot; bought my first new car; had a "work vacation" in New Orleans; saw one cousin and uncle for the first time in 12 years; paid off student loans 2 and 3; got my SPHR designation
2004: Worked a lot (notice the trend?); lost 60 pounds; made yet another trip to Orlando for work; spent time in GA while Mom recovered from major surgery; finally got settlement from when company closed in 2000
2005: Worked a lot; finally took a real vacation to Orange Beach; realized I spent too much time traveling for work when the people at a hotel 245 miles from my home recognized me a Wal-Mart; had major surgery for uterine fibroids
2006: Worked a lot; met now-DH; broke up with DH; reconnected with DH; see brother for first time in 5 years; "work vacation" in Boston
2007: Worked a lot; left XYZ Company; started at racing company; attended two weddings on 7/7/07; Dad diagnosed with cancer
2008: Realize I need to better balance work and personal life; Dad begins cancer recovery; DH moves in; get engaged; get married 6 months later; honeymoon in Cancun; pay off car; help BFF through messy divorce
2009: Still trying to spend less time at work than before; still driving paid-for car; DH and I decided to TTC (unofficially); took two vacations (!) to the mountains and then to Hilton Head; traveled for work only once; started tracking how many books I read a year and discovered its at least 100/year
2000 - freshman/sophmore year of college. broke up with longtime BF from highschool. start 'experimenting and rebelling' a little. gained the freshman 15. went on Judge Judge (ha! can't forget that little tid bit). and trip to the ER w/ alcohol poisoning. this was a year of bad judgement calls.
2001 - college, lots of part-time jobs, spent the summer at home. i think that was the summer dedicated to minor league baseball
found my permiscuous side. turned 21 that year too.
2002 - moved out of the dorms and into 1st house w/ roomies. internship in Atlanta that summer (which later lead to a job). my parents moved that year too.
2003 - graduated and moved to Atlanta, living w/ my BFF from growing up. did the whole single city girl thing. got my first real job and continued working parttime ones too.
2004 - met DH in the spring and the rest of the year was pretty much all about love
2005 - got laid off and moved to Charlotte, NC where DH was already interviewing. moved in together in April and engaged in August. started working in current position.
2006 - married in Sept. DH went to real estate school and that was hectic and crazy when he started flipping houses. got Ruby! bought our house in December.
2007 - 2008: nothing too eventful that stands out. a lot of family medical things going on though.
2009 - beginning of the year, not so great. troubles in married land. but it got better and improved. and good as new by end of '09. i was in a couple weddings, very busy summer. DH and I went to Mexico (first trip since honeymoon).
2010??? i'm kind of looking at is as our last hurrah before TTC. i see us being ready this time next year or early 2011. and i'll be turning 30 then too!
2000- start dating a co-worker, get a promotion from Associate Producer to Reporter, get a roommate, move out of that apt and into another apt with a close friend from college, break up with co-worker, start dating a photog from our competition, travel with a gf to the Bahamas.
2001- break up with photog from our rival station, get back together with co-worker, move into an apartment by myself, adopt a cat, party like a rockstar, my grandfather dies, travel with a gf to Cancun.
2002- visit NY, CT, and RI for the first time, get a new car, drink a lot... hmmm...maybe drank too much, can't remember much else.
2003- Boyfriend/co-worker and I move in together, go to a couple of concerts, I cheat on him (as in kiss another guy, no hanky-panky), he finds out, forgives me. Sister graduates from High School. Chaperone her and some of her friends in Cancun. Help her move into her dorm at Stanford. My mom gets a promotion and moves to the San Francisco area to keep an eye on her. I become addicted to Paradise Hotel.
2004- Decide to start working out, lose about 15 lbs, party, BF joins a city league softball team. I go as a show of support, think the pitcher is pretty hot. At the beach a couple of weeks later, said pitcher yells out my name as I walk by. We talk. Break up with boyfriend and move out. Start dating pitcher. Grandmother, whom I was very close to, passes away.
2005- Promoted from reporter/fill-in anchor to News Anchor. Take a trip to Carowinds, move in with pitcher and his roommates, get engaged. Meet some great friends. Meet great friends on the Knot.
2006- Planning wedding, pitcher and I move into our own place, buy furniture, more wedding planning, followed by wedding, HM in Jamaica, then move into a bigger place, adopt another cat. Migrate to the Nest.
2007-Happy New Year! Let's try to get pg. Fly to CA for sister's graduation, discover the awesomeness of the Outlander Series and Harry Potter. Buy a CBEFM. Buy a home.
2008-Still no baby. Start seeing an RE. Discover the awesomeness of Twilight. Adopt another cat. Buy a new car. A hole opens in our heart, DH's father passes away.
2009- Get pg, miscarry. Hate God. Find God. Uncle dies. Grandmother dies. Discover the awesomeness of mojitos. Travel to Rome. Decide to move toward IVF.
Whew...that's a lot of stuff to try and remember!
2000 - Finished jr year of HS and started senior. Had job at vet hospital doing admin stuff but got to do bonus stuff like watching surgeries. Very cool.
2001 - Graduated HS. My crazy grandma died. Started college and had a thumb-sucking roomie. Joined crew team. Partied. Hardly slept. Met DH. Drove cross-country with family to Kansas for the last time.
2002 - Started dating DH. Picked a major. Worked at Bennigan's.
2003- Quit crew. Worked at the college gym. Went to beach/lake w/ DH's family and survived. Moved into apartment with 3 strangers and shared bathroom with a really gross roomate.
2004- Took trip to Caymen Islands w/ DH (then bf). Gross roomate moved out and friends moved in. Short "study abroad class" over the summer in Greece. My birthday twin Grandpa died.
2005 - Decided to move to NC and applied for jobs like crazy. Graduated college. Got my first real job. Moved to NC. Got terpkitty and her brother. Started playing soccer again and enjoyed living by myself. Did the long distance thing while DH finished school in MD.
2006 - DH moved down with me. We didn't kill each other so we got engaged. Planned wedding. Started researching houses. Endured ridiculous drama with BIL. Weekend trips to Asheville & Wilmington.
2007 - Continued wedding plans. Bought house. Did our first somewhat large rennovation - changed some walls and got our kitchen tiled. Other grandpa died. Got married, went on fantastic Mediterranean cruise honeymoon. Weekend trip to Charleston. FIL diagnosed with leukemia. Started running again.
2008 - FIL in and out of the hospital, lots of trips home. Thankfully, he recovered after a bone marrow transplant. Nephew born. Left 1'st professional job for second job. Got our dog. Weekend trip rafting & hiking in Asheville w/ DH's cousin. DH lost job. Ran half marathon.
2009 - Left 2'nd job for 3'rd (stayed within same organization). Stayed afloat until DH got a new job!
2000 - Celebrate my 3 year anniversary working for GE, drink copious amounts of booze, move into an apartment right next to train tracks, decide that I'm fat and lose 50lbs (I guess I was fat!), go out on lots of bad dates.
2001 - Still going out on lots of bad dates, get harassed by one guys wife!! I didn't know he was married! See U2's Elevation Tour, Promoted to buyer, start dating a guy with great abs, 9/11 happens, move in with 2 roommates.
2002 - The guy with the abs takes a job with BofA in Charlotte, we buy a house and move in together, I get a job with a consulting firm in a field I have ZERO experience in.
2003 - We get a dog! I realize the guy with the abs is a tool, take my dog and a guest bed and move into an apartment with nothing but a bed, a tv and some lawnchairs, get set up on a blind date with some guy that one of my old neighbor's husband's works with. Blind date turns into many more dates. 2003 turns out to be a fortuitous year!
2004 - Help new guy buy a house, he gets a dog, my dog moves into his house, I just spend the night occasionally, fly to Denver to see Lyle Lovett play at Red Rocks, New guy asks me to marry him at the top of a waterfall.
2005 - plan a wedding and get married and honeymoon in Ireland.
2006 - Get life insurance, decided to go off BC, go to San Francisco to tour wine country for first anniversary, find out I'm pregnant! Grandmother passes away.
2007 - Have a baby!! Work from home full time, care for my child full time, nurse full time, almost blow my brains out from the stress of it all, decide that we'll make a giant financial sacrifice and I'll stay at home full time and quit my job.
2008 - Parent, parent, cook dinner, parent some more...do some consulting work, start up with some photography on the side.
2009 - People decide I can take pictures and boy did I! Took lots of pictures of other people/babies/weddings, make my first trip to the ER after I injured my back, go back to San Francisco for a do-over of wine country so I can drink this time! Go off BC again, Get pregnant, get into a car accident, Check the baby, the baby's heart stopped, D&C the next day. Gearing up to try to make another baby and happy this year is over.

2000- Finished Freshman year of high school, and started sophomore year...nothing exciting
2001-finished sophomore year and started junior year...I was running track and started working at Big Lots
2002-Continued working at Big Lots, got my license, got my first car (black Cavalier), started my senior year of highschool. Started dating a loser (although at the time I didn't realize it)
2003-Graduated from highschool. Broke up with loser boyfriend. Started freshman year at Marshall University...still lived at home...started talking to a friend from college..started dating him. Started working in registration at the small town hospital that my mom works at.
2004-got engaged to said friend..converted to Latter Day Saints for him...continued working on my ever changing degree
2005-I think this was the year that I the friend and I broke up....the ending of my engagement crushed me and I don't have any memory for about 3 months because I think I blocked it out.
2006-Started working at a larger hospital doing the same thing, but making more money. Started dating another guy I kind of new in highschool. He went to WVU (about 2.5 hours from where I was). When I was off I would drive up there to see him. He was an alcoholic and I spent a lot of time drinking and partying
2007-broke up with this guy, dated a few random guys, worked a lot, did my student teaching, started dating another loser (much older than me), basically moved in with him. In December I graduated college with a BA in elementary ed.Broke up with the loser during my last week of student teaching.
2008-In January I moved into my 1st apartment, just me and the dog. I started my first teaching job in April (preschool) and continued to work at the hospital. I met Brent in June. We were vitually inseperable. I quit that teaching job in August. In October I started working for the State of WV Child Protective Services. On Christmas Eve Brent asked me to marry him after 6 short months and I said YES!
2009- February we got married, the next week Brent got laid off (they said they didn't want to ruin our wedding...WTF?), Brent got a new job in Raleigh. We moved here in March. I started working at a preschool here. In June I left the preschool and in August I started working as a nanny. I'm currently getting all my paperwork turned in to Durham Public Schools. I went off BCP in November.

2000- Still in college and loving working on the newspaper. Change major without parents permission to English.
2001- Graduate from college, 9/11, start working as a middle school teacher in my hometown.
2002- Family dog dies, move into my own apartment, start teaching high school, father dies leaving a huge void in my heart.
2003- Meet guy and start dating him and continue to teach high school. Get a new car.
2004- Move to NC where guy lives, quit my teaching job and start a new job
2005- Get a puppy together, get engaged.
2006- Find The Knot, get married, buy a new house, get a second dog
2007- Lose DH's grandfather, lose my job, lose my husband, lose my house. Got a new job.This year sucked big time.
2008- Divorce is finalized and move into new apartment with two dogs. Start dating.
2009- Start dating nice guy who I end up following in love with, move in together, buy a new house, looking forward to the future.
2010- Hoping for good things again this year!

2003 -- still an RA, start nanny job to help pay for college, still dating guy from 2000, decide to graduate college in 3 years take lots of classes, still live at college in the summer, go to Vegas
2004 -- graduate college in July, guy from NY decides to stay in NY for grad school, life with 1 best friend in summer at college, get into and start grad school, cruised for spring break, figure out grad school is hard, meet 7 guy friends who change my life and make me realize what I should do with it
2005 -- take first full time job, continue in grad school, live 3 doors down from guy friends mentioned above, still dating NY guy, not really a big year
2006 -- grad school internship, NY guy finally moves home we get engaged!, continue working same full time job, start planning wedding, and contemplating switching jobs,
2007 -- get married, switch jobs, move to NC, become a walking disaster upon telling guy BFFs about job and move, go to Hawaii, meet NC bff, discover NC nest boards, start volunteering with puppy rescue, DH is jobless
2008 -- adopt a dog, DH starts job, have amazing staff at work, remember why I adore college students, lots of friends and family visit NC
2009 -- think about switching jobs, don't get new job, stay in old job (happily), look at buying a house and don't, one of bff's attempts suicide, drove to Boston (twice) in a month span and fly twice, another bff gets engaged, former staff member moves to NC for masters and to work for me again.
I am sure I am missing stuff but I am all hopped up on decongestants so I can breathe again someday!

2000---paid off student loans and started saving $ for roadtrip. Worked for a construction newspaper and tended bar in State College PA. Went to Paris for 3 days to see Tom Waits in concert
2001---moved possessions in with boyfriend and drove accross the country alone for 3 months trying to figure out my next plan. 9/11 happened and I ended up returning to PA and took my old job again. Got a promotion within company and moved to Cary NC within 48 hours notice.
2002---got fired from said company, worked as a temp, broke up with boyfriend, got my own apartment in Raleigh. Started working for a broker in Raleigh.
2003---dated a douchbag, split from the old broker and we started a new firm. Went on a cruise with the douchbag, finally left the douchbag.
2004---went to Hawaii and got my first email from DH. Passed my Series 7. Spent the summer camping and kayaking with DH. Went to Buenos Aires on business, took DH with me, he proposed. It was all rather shocking.
2005---moved in with DH's Clayton house, got married, honeymooned in St. Maarten. This was a hard year for us, but we survived it.
2006---started trying for baby, but I was still smoking. Tried to quit smoking time and again. Got BFF a job at my firm, this was a bad decision. DH and I saved money and started looking for a house/land to build on.
2007---still trying for baby, still smoking, still looking for houses and saving money. Went to Germany, Slovakia Luxembourg and France. Finally found a house in Raleigh that was the great for both of us.
2008---started charting for baby and getting very serious about quitting smoking. Finally got pregnant in July, quit smoking for good. Went to Cali and drove up the coast with DH.
2009---had North and been raising him ever since with my wonderful hubband in Raleigh. Finally feel like I've grown up. Am happy finally.
2000- My Freshman/Sophomore year of High School. Our Volleyball team lost the Sate Championship game, but at least we made it that far. Had my first serious boyfriend. My Daddy passed away from cancer in October after an 18 month battle. Social Services took me away from my Mom. I went through a hellion stage while I lived with my sister and never went home and became a little drunk, then got Mono. That's enough of 2000, because that year of my life really sucked.
2001- My Sophomore/Junior year of High School. My last niece was born. That made it # 9. I decided that my little rebellious stage wasn't worth it and became a Christian. This whole year seemed to be consumed with Volleyball. I was on a Junior Olympic team so I was constantly traveling when I wasn't at School. Broke up with that serious boyfriend.
2002- My Junior/Senior year of High School. Let's just say that Volleyball was the major part of my High School days. Between our School team and Junior Olympics I didn't have much time to do anything. When I wasn't playing I was never home because me and Mom never got along, so I was always at friends houses. Then I met the man I would marry! We started dating the summer before my Junior year.
2003- Gradtuated from High School! Decided that I hated school and wasn't going to waste money on College as I didn't know what I wanted to do. So I waited, and in the meantime a lady I knew was an Office Manager for a Doctor in Huntersville and offered me a job. So I've been in Healtcare ever since. I guess you can say I got lucky.
**I can't remember anything. I'm kind of B'Sing my way to the good stuff.
2004- My good friend Sally died in a car accident because of some dumb as*s drunk driver. I don't think much happened this year, or at least I can't remember. Worked and spent all my free time with future DH and friends.
2005- DH asked me to marry him in December of this year. Got really skinny and worked out all the time. I'm sure I went to the beach sometime that year and some other stuff happened?
2006- We bought our Darling little Lucy, but she lived with me. Planned our wedding. We started building our house. My Aunt passed away. Started getting fat again. Got braces. DH graduated from College that December. Worked...
2007- I planned a wedding and built a house at the same time. I was an idiot. Decided that I was getting married this year so maybe I should get my big as*s in the gym again. Got married in June. DH popped my cherry and we went to Puerto Vallarta. (Yes I was a virgin)
2008- My Grandmother passed away in January. Became a great Aunt which is crazy to me. My oldest niece got pregnant at 17. Started playing the guitar. Work, friends, and life...
2009- Went to Hilton Head after many years of going Myrtle Beach and will never go back to Myrtle Beach. Work, brother got married to some crazy skank that he still hasn't told anyone in our family about. Friends, The End.
Our life is filled with so many amazing friends so we are constantly with our friends, other than that, it seems like my life is pretty boring.
Good idea- and way for me to procrastinate cleaning the house...
2000- High school- ring in the new millenium with bf (DH). Break up with bf.
2001- Trips to Columbia University, DC and Carnegie Hall for seperate high school over acheiver trips. Date new boy- don't like him near as much.
2002- Get back together with bf. graduate high school. can't decide what college of 10 i applied to to go so i go to UNCC instead (not even one of the original 10). Ctuise the caribbean with friends for senior trip.
2003- Transfer to UNCA (still not one of the 10)- love it. Have some college fun.
2004- Study in Cambridge, England for a month. Get engaged. Plan wedding fun.
2005- Graduate early. Get married. Honeymoon in Virgin Islands. DH gets in car accident 6 weeks after wedding and we spend 2 weeks in the hospital. Get 1st professional job. Quit job promptly when new boss is crazy. Get 2nd post college job.
2006- BFP, M/C one week later. Move to CLT. Buy 1st house on 1st anniversary. Work as a nanny. Find amazing church and friends.
2007- Move to TN. BFP and M/C a month later. Work at a pediatrician's office with 20 awesome ladies.
2008- Move back to CLT into same house. Back to same church/friends. Land dream job. BFP 3 days into dream job. M/C @ 10 weeks.
2009- Decide to adopt from Ethiopia. Still work at dream job. Fill out 1.24 million pieces of official paperwork for adoption. Lots of weekends away visiting friends. Love on a group of 30 kids from the city that are without much hope.
2000--Junior year/start Senior year of college. Work for inaugural season minor league baseball team. Average 70+ hours a week of work at an average of 7 cents an hour. Yes, it was that so crazy that we actually calculated it, but DANG it was a GREAT summer. Had a great time working with one of my existing guy friends, and made some great new friends/future colleagues as well. The year at school was crazy--Bobby Knight gets fired in the fall and causes a huge uproar on campus. I was recruitment chair of a difficult sorority for which to bring in new recruits--spent a lot of time trying to teach insecure young college women to embrace their "different-ness" in order to seem less awkward trying to be people they weren't. Also spent a lot of time trying to teach a new group of cyclists the sport and became the leader for a cycling organization on campus.
2001- Graduated from college--spring semester 2001 was one of the best times in my life. Won a big individual cycling event on campus, but fell short in the big team race.
Had an awkward romance that ended just as awkwardly--I thought he was in many ways my "dream man"--until I met DH. Turned down 1st job offer to be a travelling chapter consultant for our sorority on the feeling that I was going to be a contender for a "dream" job on campus--had first interview before school ends session. 2 days after graduation (and 1 day after moving back home to LI, back with my parents) I go on an interview and receive my 2nd job offer. After a 2 day debate, I withdraw my candidacy from my Indiana based job and decide to accept LI, NY job. At first the job SUCKED--my boss was an AWFUL teacher and the product we were selling BLEW--but at the same time, I met one of my best friends, who coincidentally was interning with the team and happend to be staying with her boyfriend's family that lived in my hometown. She's from PA, so the stars aligned. 9/11 occurs and seriously affects me. Job gets better--owner decides to invest in their company and offers the public a good product.
2002--January--I buy my beloved Pinarello bicycle after saving up enough commission checks. I love that bike--and ironically, the day I went to pick it up, it snowed a few feet so I didn't even get to ride it for a few weeks.
Job is good to great. The team is winning, people are mostly happy (c'mon, they are long islanders--they will ALWAYS find something to complain about!) and although we're working crazy hours, I'm having a LOT of fun doing it. The only downside is the football team, which has moved from the summer to the spring, so it overlaps with our other season.
2003--Job is still pretty decent. Similar team, so no real complaints, though the owner decides to take a more active role in the day to day business--which gave him the same result but cost him a heck of a lot more money (brought in "friends" as consultants). I think this was the year that his business partner went to jail and that we again had overlapping seasons so we witnessed a playoff game and a home opener of 2 different sports on the same day in the same facility with only 3-4 hours in between. Again, working crazy hours but still enjoying it. DH and i think we may have met sometime this summer and gone on our 3 dates over the course of 3 months.
2004--By this time DH and I are dating--on a whim he says "why don't we got to the Tour de France?" and I say "yes, thank you"--shocking the crap out of him. July 2004 on our 2nd day in France DH asks me to marry him. At first I say "no" but then reconsider and give him a "yes." I was nervous because we hadn't actually discussed marriage before his proposal and I like to talk things out before doing them. Upon our return from the Tour, we start planning our wedding--because of my job situation--I thought I would have to have most of our planning done by October 1, so August and September I did nothing but wedding plan. October comes around and the league decides to lock out the players. My role in sales shifts drastically to customer service/punching bag. I see many of my well respected friends/colleagues fired or leave due to the "writing on the wall." Ownership decides to restructure and set ridiculously high sales goals for a season that wasn't to be. My happiness in planning our wedding was balanced, unfortunately with the crappiness of a depressing work situation.
2005--League decides to officially call off the rest of the season because an agreement could not be reached. I dreaded each morning waking up to go to work because I knew I was just going to get complaint after complaint. DH got admitted into UNCG and we decide that after the wedding we'll move down to NC and that I'll become the main income provider. 2 weeks before the wedding we go to one of his friends weddings in DC, the weekend before ours I go to a shower up in CT for my baseball friend's fiancee, and then have a beautiful wedding that my Grandma missed due to horrendous traffic. 1 month later, we move to Greensboro. In August I finally find a job that I'm excited for--for about 2 weeks--when I realize that the owner is a psycho and doesn't have a business plan or any $$ in which to pay people. AWESOME. I become miserable--as is everyone else i work with.
2006--Still at the suck-tastic job. The only "good" thing is that I discover that there's a bus that goes from GSO to downtown W-S and that for $2 each way, I could relax at least a little bit, occassionally, on my way to and from my suck-tastic job. This was when gas started to get expensive, so the $4 bus fare was well worth it. The only "up" side to the year was that my best friend got married to a girl I really like, as did a few other friends.
2007--After being the finalist for another great job but getting passed over, in February, on a whim, I attend a meeting after work that finds me my current employer. In March, I start working with current employer and have an amazing rest of the year. In May, Dh and I go to Italy with his basketball team, we see some of our favorite cyclists while there--it was a dream trip. In July, my company moves into a new facility built specifically for us. In August my favorite cousin gets married the day after my birthday.
2008--babies start to come to my friends--thankfully not to DH and I. DH graduates with his EdD, and gets a job here in Greensboro after receiving several great offers. We decide to go ahead and buy our first house. Work is still great for me--one of my co-workers moves out of state so I get a little promotion into her position. August 2008, Dh and I went to DH's best friend's wedding in Lake Tahoe.
2009--work is good for both DH and I. Actually, we're both really happy to have jobs and co-workers that we both really love (ok, I don't really "love" a few of my co-workers, but they aren't so bad that I can't leave work at work.) DH's brother got married in LA in May so it was nice to go out there, even if it was the shortest cross-country trip ever--I think we were in airports/on planes longer than we were actually on the ground. My dad officially retired, 100% in September. Did a few home improvements to the house--learned that we aren't nearly as handy as we thought we were. Tried to live on a budget for the first time ever. We didn't really stay on budget, but we came pretty darned close--and it's an effort we want to get better at. The only bad thing is that in October my grandma fell and broke her femur and hip--she's been living in a rehab facility and will get out soon--significantly sooner than anyone expected.
2010--Grandma turns 88 tomorrow (January 2) and she, along with Mom and Dad are starting to make plans to move to GSO. Dh and I are both struggling with this reality, but hope that overall it will be a positive one. I am hoping for a great new year!!

2000 - Graduated from undergrad. Went to Europe with a friend from college for 5 weeks over the summer and had a blast visiting various countries. started grad school in the fall.
2001 - Watched Duke win the 2001 NCAA basketball championship from inside Cameron Indoor, it was great! Moved to Beaufort, NC in the fall for second year of graduate school.
2002 - Earned my Master's degree. Moved to OH for the summer. Friend from grad school called and asked if I was interesting in living with her in the DC area. Moved to Bethesda, MD without a job.
2003 - Worked two part time jobs, explored DC. Met DH in the spring and hung out with him and mutual friends. Started dating in the fall.
2004 - One of my part time jobs goes to full time. Continue to work the other part time job off and on. Got engaged
2005 - Changed jobs and started researching housing options in VA since that is where DH lived/worked. Got married and we both quit our jobs and moved to OH to house sit for my parents while they were overseas.
2006 - Went to Germany for 2006 FIFA World Cup and saw the USA v Czech Republic. The game was fun, just wish the US had played better. Then went to London for a few days to visit family.
2007 - Another trip to England to visit family and moved to NC so DH can start graduate school. Thankfully I only spend about a month job searching. Birthday trip to Carolina Beach. Also visit the NC zoo for the first time.
2008 - Spring hail puts dents in both of our cars, into the shop they go. Family beach trip (about 20 people) on the Outer Banks. Go to the Greenbrier resort in WV for my mom's birthday celebration.
2009 - Saw Wicked in London, also went to a Chelsea soccer game. Adopted a kitty over the summer. Anniversary trip to Biltmore in the summer and also go to Biltmore over the holidays to see the Christmas decorations. Traveled to MD, PA and OH for the holidays.
