It's a post-Christmas miracle!

After nearly a month of constant calling, my old gyn in VA Beach has finally transferred my records to the new gyn I found in W'burg!!  Woohoo!  I can finally schedule my yearly exam and talk about starting TTC in the next couple months.  Getting my records transferred was SUCH a pain.

PG ladies - I'll be seeing a Nurse Practitioner.  Do they handle OB stuff too?  Should I have asked to see a Dr. instead, or does it not matter?  I've always seen a NP at my old place, so I just went with a NP again.

  • Woot woot!!!!

Im not starting to TTC yet, but I have talked to my NP about it and she has been very helpful

  • YAH!!! I just had one, too (but will post...)

That's awesome! It's such a PIA to get records transferred, isn't it?!

Wish I knew more to answer the other questions... I've always had an OBGYN, so it didn't matter for moi.

  • I love NP's.  I used to see an NP for years before I transferred to my current doctor.  My aunt is an NP and I call her constantly for all things pregnancy/baby related.  GL!
  • I agree.  I like NP's better.  Much more personable and relatable and knowledgable.  (although I had a great doc...until the birth).

    Congrats!

  • That's great!  (Medical things, like getting records transferred, have been such a PITA for me this year, so I understand!

I've seen both NP and OBGYNs and have had good experiences with both.  Haven't had experience for a pregnancy obviously, but I've seen both for gyno visits and always liked them.

  • There's an NP at my OB's office and she can do any and all of the "run-of-the-mill" pregnancy stuff.  I'm not sure if the NP's do the delivery though...something to ask when the time comes.
