UGH! Re: Charlie Sheen
This is ridiculous and makes me SO mad! Sadly, I have to admit that I'm at bored at work and reading TMZ...
The story is talking about how Charlie Sheen's wife is recanting her story that she told the police when she called them on Christmas. The way it sounds to me, she was drunk and they had a big fight where he may or may not have held a knife to her throat. She called 911.
Then TMZ prints this bullshiit. And this is not bullshiit from TMZ, these are the words of her lawyer.
"Galanter says, Brooke did "minimize her story, like many wives in a similar situation do, when they realize their husband could go to jail."
And also:
"He says, like many women who find themselves in similar circumstances, Brooke didn't realize that Charlie would be arrested after she called 911."
GIVE me a freaking break! This woman is a liar. Either she lied when she called the cops, or she lied later, but either way - she lied. Don't pull this "like many women" bullshit!!! ALL women are NOT that stupid! If I call the cops and tell them my husband is holding a knife to my throat, I know damn well he's going to jail!
Basically, this lawyer is saying that women are stupid and don't realize the consequences to their actions ... because we're women, more or less.

I agree on both points.
Leigha - you have a very good point. I still feel like those comments are rude and insulting. Even if other women do that, it's not a good excuse for what she did. I don't personally feel she's doing it out of fear of her husband. She's doing it to not get in trouble with the police. And he did not say "other women who are victims of domestic violence..." he just said, "many other woman." It feels more like, to me, "Like many other women do, and since they are women, that's justification enough." or "Oh, she's just a woman - we can't hold her accountable for her actions because she's not smart enough."
