Hey gals... I have a question and knew yall could help me. So outta the blue I decided to take one of those Dollartree OPK's and it showed the two lines which means Im ovulating.. evidentally! So...my question is... is it just today that im ovulating? Stupid question i know. Sorry

Are you charting too? Or just using OPK's? I'm not an expert on all of this yet, but from what I have read and remember, you can't rely solely on OPK's to determine when you've ovulated. I use OPK's in addition to charting my temps to help determine when I've ovulated.
Other gals with experience, please correct me if I'm wrong! I'm still learning about all of this too : )
An OPK is only truly positive if the test line is equal or darker than the control line. You will have some sort of second line throughout your whole cycle. The OPK detects your LH surge and typically will pick it up 24-48 hours before you actually ovulate. Since there is no way to know what part of the surge you took the test you are in the fertile phase and should be ovulating shortly but could be on the upswing or downswing of the 24-48 hour timeframe. Like MDMassie said, without temping there is no way to know that you have in fact ovulated without a confirmed thermal shift.
If you have any other questions or that doesn't make sense let me know. I have peed on about a thousand of those pieces of sh!t.
I would start with the next first day of your cycle. It will likely take a month or two to get the hang of it but it is pretty easy. Most of it is unnecessary unless you want to overanalyze everything like I have to lol. Hopefully for your sake you wont get to that point.
