What's your NY's Eve plan?

Anything exciting on the agenda? I think the DH and I are just laying low...probably stay home and possibly have the fam over. How 'bout you?

Re: What's your NY's Eve plan?

  • we're having a few friends over.  next year I hope to get my planning together early enough to have a big bash.

  • we're thinking an early dinner at artisanal and then toasting at home. DH's co-worker just gave him a bottle of veuve for the christmas so we'll probably enjoy that  :)

  • Thankfully, it's the first NYE in a few years that DH hasn't had to work, so we plan on staying low-key and just cooking, and schmoozing in-doors at home. Although, with me being pregnant, my preferred and only drink of choice will be sparkling apple cider. And if we do decide to venture out and share a celebratory drink, it will definitely be in in our Throgs Neck neighborhood.

But, New Year's day, we're having some friends over to share in some good food and drink.

I'm ready for another few days off from work!

  • absolutely nothing! we might go up to Grand Army Plaza to catch the fireworks, but really it will be just the two of us, dining in at home and relaxing. If our neighbors are in town we've invited them to come over and celebrate with us, but nothing definite. We are planning to meet up with friends for brunch on new years day.

Mrs. Wifey: you should check out this article on other festive non-alcoholic drinks.

  • NYE is actually a big family celebration in Russia, so we're going over to my ILs' (along with my parents and DH's aunt, uncle, and cousin) We exchange presents (instead of Christmas) and stay up way too late. Nothing too exciting, lol.
  • Staying home!  What a party crowd we all are, seriously....

My parents and a few friends are coming over.  We will be playing board games and I will be hiding the fact that I am not drinking (we aren't telling anyone we are pg until after the U/S on Monday!)

You ladies are more than welcome to come over to my house!  We will be playing Cranium!!

Seriously, though, pm me if you want to come!

  • I am going over to my friend's house and we are having a pot luck.  I don't like braving the crowds and paying too much for a meal on New Years plus my husband works (making desserts for those who do want to pay too much for a meal) and my friend has an 11 month old and can't go anywhere.  I think I am going to make a risotto and I am trying to get oysters for an appetizer.

  • Add another to the stay at home crowd.

DH is cooking a duck and we'll probably enjoy a bottle of prosecco on the couch.  Nice and toasty warm.  And to make it super exciting and festive we'll continue re-watching all of Lost.

  • Me, I'm going to Miami with a GF to relax and enjoy some warmer weather. Paradise

DH is actually not working that night and is heading over to a friend's for a little party.  Nothing too crazy.

  • That sounds awesome 315! I am so jealous.  ;-) We are heading to Brooklyn for a small party with some other couples.  It should be so key and fun.  Have a great NYE ladies!!

  • Everyone's plans sound warm and cozy.

My adopted sister is finally here! Yay! So nice to have family on my side for once. Stick out tongue

I will leave work early so we can do touristy things all day. Then at night, we are going to head to midnight mass at one of those mega churches (it's the only time I go to that church and not my usual church because I honestly enjoy their NYE mass).

Then afterwards, it's gonna be us three hanging out with a bottle of ginger wine from Jamaica and just chilling and having fun! I am really looking forward to it.

    Happy New Year!

  • New Years's is DH b-day and usually feels like everyone forgets about him so I usually let him choose what he wants to do. This year is his 40th so he wants to go down by his parents and spend the night in AC. Then we're having a big b-day dinner at his parents house on friday. What he doesn't know is that I'm throwing him a surprise party next saturday!!
