Were you partying like it was 1999? Worried about Y2K?
I can't believe it was a decade ago.
(Btw, totally stole this topic from the Nest on FB). How did you celebrate 99/00 NYE?

Re: Ten years ago...
I had a low-key NYE with my family, and then flew out to see DH (at home on Christmas break) on NY's day for dirt cheap in a deserted airport because everyone else had been afraid to fly.

I was 13. I went to my BFFs house bc her parents were having a party. I kissed her cousin, Eric, at midnight, and then never saw him again.

YES! Ahhh, high school.
C and I have been having such a hard time getting excited for NY's because we're both thinking back to 10 years ago and how much fun we had!
My friend had a party where she asked us all to get dressed in black tie dresses. I drank tons and tons and danced a lot. And spent the next day unable to move until like, 4pm because I was so hungover. Good times.
This year we're going for dinner at 6:30 and then to our friends' house who don't want to do anything noisy. Sad.

My NYE 10 years ago is oddly similar to my NYE plans this year.
1999/2000 -- During the day, I stayed in bed late into the morning, watched TV countdowns, and played on the computer. Around 7:00 p.m., two of my friends called and asked to come over. We got dressed up in party hats and glittery shirts and played board games until midnight.
2009/2010 -- I'm still in bed and playing on the computer (thank you lap top!). I'll probably flip on the TV soon and see what year-end countdowns E! and VH1 have in store. Around 7:00 p.m., DH and I are going to make dinner and play board games until midnight.

Ok here's where my used-to-be-a-geek comes out! I was a junior in HS and went to Miami as I marched in the Orange Bowl Parade...I played the clarinet in the band. That night there was a huge party at the hotel for all of the bands in the parade....it was like a wedding - a big meal and LOTS of dancing. I wasn't worried about Y2K. I had a blast!
