What is your New Year Resolution(s)?
I have two;
1. Continue to have a happy & healthy relationship w/my wonderful husband
2. Have a healthier lifestyle
Re: What is your New Year Resolution(s)?
-To be more budget conscious.
-To be a better listener.
-To stick to a healthy lifestyle, and make healtier choices.
To try to kick my daily Diet Pepsi habit and eventually caffiene all together (need to do baby steps).
Also try to eat healthier since DH and I will be TTC this coming summer. Less processed food and more whole foods.
1. Cut down on caffeine.
2. Be healthier in general.
3. Gossip less.
I haven't really thought about a resolution this year. I guess I have so much that will change soon.
I think that my resolutions will center around LO, DH and trying to create a new balanced life.
Mine is to be more fair to my husband. Sometimes I take a passive-aggressive attitude towards him, and I hate it! It's not often, but it's 99% of the time not even anything HE did. He's just nearby, an easy target. Then I feel myself doing it, and can't stop, so I continue my bratty mood for another couple hours.
It's absurd, and I'd like it to stop altogether. I'd also like to drink more water, consistently. I always feel better when I do.
HD - I STILL don't believe you are the least bit overweight but the gym is a good choice for anyone.
I guess I'd like to continue with my workouts and try to make them more routine. I have to say I did better than expected this past year with just joining a gym. I never had been a member before and I kept it up all year and I'm still going but I'd like to go more.
More booze
More sex
Less cleaning
Hahaha, I vote for these too!!
I like to think more about goals for the new year versus resolutions, since those are usually phrased in absolutes and are negative (no more sweets!), where a goal to me is more like working toward something positive, more about progress (eating healthier).
I'm starting back up on weight watchers soon, and I hope to drop 15-20 pounds.
I want to run a 5K sometime this spring or summer.
DH and I started a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days, and we want to work on lots of those. We started it when we moved and want to get them all done in the two and 3/4ths year or so that it takes, which is when we will start thinking more seriously about having kids.
Another one I want to do is to stop mindless internet stuff after 9 and spend the time in a better way, relaxing with DH or reading. Unfortunately that might mean less nesting! I find that it's 8:30 or so, I get online, start nesting, facebooking, etc and then all of a sudden it's 9:45 (we like to be in bed by 10) and I've barely seen/talked to DH that night.
My Food Blog
Aww! Thanks!
1. Continue to eat healthy and go to the gym!
2. Try to put money in my retirement account once a month
3. Put myself on a no spending rule until my birthday in March. I do this every year. Last year I did a great job so I am hoping to repeat it !
The joys of teaching!
You're welcome. Only speaking the truth. If you lived closer, we could go to the gym together. I work out longer and harder with a partner I find.
I ABSOLUTELY do that too. I am also trying to do less of it.
I don't really like to make resolutions either - for the same reasons already stated - but I love goals. I make lists of them all the time. I just recently made my own 101 in 1001 list (in my blog) and am looking forward to tackling it!
My biggest thing for this coming year (and the rest of our lives) is managing our finances as best I can. That also includes curbing my desire to buy random stuff. I'm really not bad, but occasionally I use my fun money on something I don't really need and end up feeling guilty later. I know that's the POINT of fun money (things you don't NEED, but WANT), but I feel like I don't use it the best way I could.
2010 Highlights
9/26 Adirondack Marathon 5:11:37 (major knee pain, but hey, I finished!)
2011 Races and Results
5/29 Buffalo Marathon (5:25 - not pretty, just trying not to get heatstroke!)
9/25 Adirondack Marathon (take 2!)
One of these days I'll have a good marathon!
To hopefully lose the rest of the baby weight and maybe a little more.
I had lost about 20 pounds this year and when I went on Wii fit the other day I gained 5 back, so now I have 35 to lose rather than 30. I don't want to set a specific number but I at least need to make it a goal to go to the gym during the week, I can't keep using "I work late" or "I'm too tired" to not go.
I also want to have my new house be very organized, we just put an offer in on a house so when we move I want it to be very organized.
Save more $.... we were doing really well (I was putting my whole paycheck into savings when I was pregnant to see how it was living on DH salary alone) But now that we are on 1 income it's harder to save. We really haven't changed our lifestyle too much though, there is a lot we can cut back on. I think I need to make a budget, and stick to it! We want to buy a new house w/ in 2 years.
Also get to the gym. We signed up back in October, and I said as soon as Evan was 6 months (the min age for the childcare) I was going to go every morning... he's now 7 months and I haven't been once!!
Mine are to:
Be nicer to myself and others
Lose weight / go to the gym regularly
Work less
