Gettysburg/Hershey ladies

It's me again (well for the Gettysburg ladies) Smile  we are working on our Valentine's/President's Day weekend in Gettysburg area and so far we plan on snow tubing at Ski Liberty and taking a day to go up to Hershey for some of the Chocolate Covered February events.  We'll probably hit the outlets on our way out of town.  I know there is a lot of historical stuff, but that seems like it would be better with warmer weather.  Anything else you would recommend?  How about restaurants (particularly ones for Valentine's Day...we know we'll need reservations)?  We also were thinking about maybe getting massages....any good spas in the area?  Thanks so much for letting me pick your brains!

Re: Gettysburg/Hershey ladies

  • The Hershey Spa is AH-MAY-ZING, albeit pricey.  And the Chocolate World tour is always fun, whether you've never been there or you've been there umpteen times.
  • Depending on your menu tastes you might want to check out the new Devon Seafood Grill.  It's supposed to be fabulous.  It's located in the Hershey Press Building next to Houlihan's.  I definitely recommend making reservations if it's a weekend.  There's also the new A Hershey Story museum in downtown (right across from the Press Building where Houlihan's and Devon are).

The Spa at the Hotel Hershey is absolutely wonderful so I definitely recommend that too!

  • I checked out the Devon's menu online and it definitely looks like something we would love...is there any kind of dress code or would jeans be okay (as we would be doing some other Hershey things that day)?  How is the Hershey Story museum...we've never been, but are considering it.

  • I don't know of any dress code for Devon but I think nice jeans would be ok.  I'm actually not a seafood person but I've already told DH that I'll get expensive chicken and take him there for his birthday at the end of January.  The Hershey Story museum is really nicely done...I know a lot of people like it better than the cheesy Chocolate World tour.
  • Not sure what Chocolate Covered February events you plan on doing, but if you don't mind lines and love chocolate, I recommend Chocolatefest. It's usually at the Hershey Lodge and it's pretty much hours of chocolate (and food) taste testing. It does get crowded though.

Definitely hit up the Hershey Story museum, the hubby and I went this past weekend, and it was done very nicely! They offer 10% off for AAA and free admission to active military members. Chocolate world (and the 3D show) is fun. For spa, Hershey Spa (located in the Hershey Hotel). It's the best. BEST.

For dinner, Houlihans, Devons (seafood, and you can wear jeans), or Fire Alley, those are my recommendations. :o)
