Another Mat leave question
I filled out my EI application tonight and am unsure about the last day worked.
My last day physically worked (which is what it asks for) was Dec 11, but I have been on payroll since and my last day for which I'm paid will be Jan 1.
It doesn't ask me about this, but they'll see it, along with a table of payroll explanation on my ROE.
So they shouldn't start my mat leave until the 4th, right? And taking the vacation time in advance shouldn't cut down on the time I'm alloted. It should just be 15 weeks of mat starting from two weeks after the 4th and then 35 weeks of parental leave, right?
Re: Another Mat leave question
I put the last day I actually worked. I was then paid a week by my company (kind of a YEAH you are having a baby bonus). So my ROE said my last day was a week later. They went by the ROE not by what I entered into the system.
Your mat leave will start based on the date on your ROE. Vacation time won't cut down on your allotment at all so your assessment of the dates is correct.
