She's been taking ALL of her naps in the crib with one arm swaddled and one arm out. We use her "baby crack machine" that we used to play the "rain" noise on and are now using the heartbeat noise and it seems to be working!
She slept in there all night 2 nights ago, all night the night before last and 4 hours in there last night. She has a really stuffy nose now so she's having a hard time breathing and has a cough. So last night I pulled her into bed with me so I could get her back to sleep because she would wake up coughing and then start crying. Poor girl! Ryan ended up sleeping in the spare bedroom from 5-7am because her coughing was waking him up. He was fine with it and said she needed to be with us.
Thanks for everyone's input and suggestions! I really appreciate it.
A suggestion: I just finished reading "ways to calming the fussy baby" by Dr Sears after it was recommended by a friend. It's a fabulous book! All sorts of AP suggestions in there and it made me feel really good about everything: breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing. There's a section on baby wearing that I LOVED!! Now I know why on Christmas Eve when I took Bella after she was passed around and put her in the sling, she calmed down immediately and fell asleep.
Re: UPDATE: Bella's sleep habits
Yay, it sounds like things are looking up. I think the most important thing is that you and YH are on the same page!
I was thinking of recommending the Dr. Sears book, in a ready frenzy I checked them all out from my ND a few months ago and read or skimmed each and that is one that I only skimmed (and figured I could read when/if it became something I needed to know more about). I loved all the books, but know they are not for everyone...
Glad to hear that things are working out better. Is Bella feeling better? Ashton has a cough and runny nose too.
We plan to try and transition Ashton to his crib during nap time this weekend. I have the No Cry Sleep Solution (just need to start writing down when he wakes up at night so that we can analyze) and I will look for the Dr. Sears book too.
I don't mind Ashton sleeping with me and neither does Adam (he has been sleeping in the spare room or couch since basically we started bed-sharing). I think I am more the one who wants to transition Ashton into the crib as Adam would rather Ashton stay with me in the bed.
I'm sure I'll be asking you tons of questions once my time comes to move him during the night.
