Duff I don't see....

the Jemez race on your schedule!

I'm still dreaming that I'll get back into shape to do the half again this year.

Re: Duff I don't see....

  • I believe it's on May 15...not that I've checked, I'm just going off memory from last year's race.  I thought my swearing in ceremony was going to be the 15th, so I decided not to do it.  Now the ceremony is May 1, so I COULD, but I'm in the process of researching Caribbean cruises for May 15-21.  :)

Hmmm.....run a hilly half marathon from hell or sit on a boat with fruity drinks for 5 days.  Tough choice, but I think I'm going with the boat.

I'm actually only up to 4 miles right now anyway...but I'm forcing myself to do it straight through - no more walk breaks.  My big goal for the year is to run a half w/o walking.  There's a half sometime in May that my friend is doing, but I need to check the date on it.  I'd like to get an April/May half in and then start working on Chicago in June....if the dates work out, I may scrap the triathlon and do Jemez instead.

I love how I manage to change my mind in one, gigantic, long post.

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

  • Haha, you made me laugh with that last line  ;)

I just checked and it is actually May 22.  I did a Duathlon a couple of days after returning from a Mexican cruise, it worked, but I had to spend way to much time doing laps on the ship....

Registration for the half doesn't open until 2/1, so you have time to change your mind several times before then. the longer races are open and there are already 79 people registered for the 50mile race, I guess if you are doing that distance you have to start training early!

  • Definitely can't do it then...we have a wedding to go to on the 22 and we're planning any vacation around that wedding, so I'm pretty sure a race would be out too.  I'll double check the time, but I'm pretty sure it's early afternoon...I doubt it's enough time for me to finish the half, get home, shower and get to the wedding.
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!
