2009 - Year in Review
Since tomorrow is NYE and I posted a similar poll about the "decade in review," I thought I'd kick off this one as well.
What were your highlights (and lowlights, if you want) this year?

January - Nothing too exciting
February - Went to Washington D.C.
March - Presented at my first academic/professional conference in Las Vegas; Bridal showers
April - Presented at second academic/professional conference
May - Finished my first year of this M.A. program
June - Got married 
July - Went to Cancun, saw Jewel in concert, went to Comic Con
August - Turned 26, started teaching at a new campus
September - School, school, and more school
October - Saw Brad Paisley in concert
November - Went to Austin, TX
December - Went to Northern California to pick out bridesmaids' dresses for my BFFs wedding
Our summer was so huge with the wedding and the honeymoon, the rest of the year seems kind lame in comparisson, but I feel like I was always super busy. Hmmmm. Anyway, I'm looking forward to 2010!
Re: 2009 - Year in Review
January: Moved in with C (fine, it was Dec. 28, but I did most of the unpacking in Jan.). Received 1st threatening e-mail from EvSIL.
February: Accidentally found our new synagogue.
March: Went to San Francisco to present part of my th*sis work at a conference.
April: Pre-wedding fete with my Montreal friends.
May: Bridal shower, bachelorette party, bachelor party...more threats from EvSIL.
June: Ummm.....I can't think of anything....oh yeah - got married
July: Struggled with writing and wrote thank you notes.
August: Most kick-asss honeymoon ever: 3 weeks in Israel. Turned 30.
September: More struggling with writing. Lots of waiting.
October: Decided to start TTC. Found out I had to re-do all the writing I'd done.
November: In Montreal away from my husband. LOTS of work.
December: Even more writing. Won $10 at penny slots.

January - March: Nothing too exciting unless you count the fibroid surgery in Jan
April - Plans for showers taking place.
May - Bridal Shower
June - Wedding & Honeymoon. At end of month we got word that my cousin had
months to live. Rollercoaster month for sure.
July - Cousin continues to go downhill. Husband out to sea often. Travel for last visit to see cousin. For work and stuck on a boring job that will keep me busy the rest of summer...but its billable and others are light...so I read and do TY notes...
August - More of cousin going downhill. Fast. Bad. Husband still out to sea. Cousin passes away at end of month.
September - Studying asss off for the PG which is at start of Oct.
October - Take PG (ended up not passing, by ONE point...again!). After PG, kick prep for house going on market into high gear. Start job hunting in earnest.
November - Turn 33 on 1st. House listed Nov 3. Spend Turkey Day with cousin (DH at work)
December - Christmas in MA with family. Start prep for DHs deployment, move & starting our family.

My year...
January: We celebrated our engage-aversary on the 19th
February: Went to Baltimore for a weekend trip to visit one of my BFFs from college and her bf. Had a great time exploring Baltimore and DC.
March: Headed home to Iowa for my first wedding shower and then to Dallas at the end of the month for my bachelorette party.
April: DH's cousin hosted a shower for me in Louisville for his side of the family and one of my BMs threw us a couple's shower.
May: DH and I had a great time at Derby - it was kind of relaxing not to have a half dozen people staying at our house like most years. Threw a bachelorette party and shower for a friend's wedding.
June: Got married (no way!?!) and spent a fabulous week in the Dominican Republic -- best 2 weeks of the year. At the end of the month we went back to Iowa again for a small reception there for family and friends who couldnt make the trip.
July: I was the MOH in my bff's wedding in Louisville on the 3rd and we spent the rest of the month getting the house back in order and relaxing. Went to Pittsburgh at the end of the month for an old college friend's wedding.
August: Finished up some house renovations we had put off forever and spent a little time on the boat. It was nice not to leave the state once that month.
September: Football season started and we discovered how bad Louisville football was going to be... but we had fun tailgating.
October: I really dont remember much about October - I think all we did was go to football games and I cooked and baked a lot. Work was really busy so a lot of the fall is a blur.
November: I cooked the entire Thanksgiving meal for the first time and finished my first cake decorating class.
December: Normal holiday rush but it was fun. Work got in the way a little too often and we had to cancel a friend's trip to St Louis but hopefully we'll make that up in a month or 2. It was so nice to spend our first married Christmas together.
All in all, 2009 was a great year for us. 2010 should have a lot of big changes in store for us so I'm hoping everything goes well and its just as good if not better.

Jan- Walked down the aisle for my MA. First in my family to get one!
Feb- nothing major
March- celebrated 1 year of engagement
April- got through my first tax season at work.
May- great birthday with friends and family
June- got married and went to Costa Rica
July- nothing major
Aug- Birth of M's cousin's baby (very close family)
Sept- nothing major
Oct- Found out my sister is pregnant!
Nov- birth of our neice
Dec- told my SIL is finally pregnant! so excited for them! Accepted into college (again) for a new major.
Jan- Went to the presidential inauguration and the Neighborhood Ball in DC.
Feb- Nothing too exciting. Travelling a lot to Chicago for work.
March- Bridal shower in Detroit
April- Hung out in Atlanta with my Mom for a work seminar; my 31st bday.
May- "Walked" for my doctoral degree in D.C.; went to my 10-year college reunion at Princeton
June- Got married and honeymooned in Mexico, then immediately went to Wisconsin and Reno, NV for work conferences.
July- DH's family reunion in Indiana; Atlanta for an NIH grant seminar.
Aug- Went to Toronto for a work conference.
Sept- KTFU! Stopped having to go to Chicago for work every week. Woo hoo!
Oct- Went to Pompano Beach, Florida to veg out on the beach in my aunt's gifted timeshare; celebrated DH's 30th birthday in Door County, WI; went to NYC for my best friend's wedding; baby's first ultrasound.
Nov- Went to northern MI to celebrate MIL's 60th birthday.
Dec- Celebrated Christmas in Atlanta then Detroit.
Hmmm...I had no idea I travelled so much this year until I wrote it all out! Next month I'm off to Texas for work.
