So I had that interview yesterday, and I think it went well. ??? What disarmed me was that they asked virtually no questions. The hiring manager kept looking at my resume and going, "Yeah, I like that." and "Well you went to a good school." No situational questions like, "What would you do if ..."
Nothin.
It was mostly me grilling the two people I met with. It was the easiest, but oddest interview I have ever been on.
So unless someone more awesome than myself comes along (that would be tough cause I rawk) I'm in...I think? They told me I was the front runner which I guess is a good thing.
I haven't done this in so long and I caught a brief, shining glimpse of a normal work environment which made my heart sing. And made coming in to my present job today that much harder.
Re: Paranoia from interview
I would't worry too much - every company/work place has a different way of interviewing. When I moved down here I had a teaching interview that pretty much went like:
Me: Hi!
Principal: Well, I called your references and past principal and they all told me that you were wise beyond your years (I was 24) and I'd be crazy not to hire you. What do you think? Would you like a job?
Me: Of course! Yes! Thank you!
Not your typical interview, huh? I'll be finishing up my 2nd year at that school in June and have met some amazing friends.
Hang in there! I'm a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason," so things will work out for you

You have to remember that HR people are just that....people!
The interviewers probably did not feel like being at work between x-mas and new years. I used to have to interview multiple people every day and it gets old rather quickly. Was your interview at the end of the day?
I should hear by mid next week if they've chosen me. I thought it was odd they would make a decision based off 1 phone interview with HR, 1 phone interview with the hiring manager, and 1 in person. They really were pushing to get my in person before the new year to. I met with the hiring manager (VP) and a woman I'd be working with and that was it.
At my current job they have like 5 rounds of interviews, scoring sheets, debrief meetings, (obstacle course, written essay portion, trivia round....) and then they take a month or two to actually hire the person. It's ridiculous.
This decisive action is really refreshing and only makes me want to work there more.*fingers crossed*
Crossing my fingers for you!
