First off: I'm really, REALLY bad at decorating. Like insanely, ridiculously bad. Which is why I make these mockups, because without them I'd have absolutely no clue what worked together. Lame, I know.
Anyway, as a few of you might know, I've been struggling to find bedding that I like. I'm not a fan of characters like Pooh, and I don't really like themes like jungle animals or fishing or whatever - I prefer geometric shapes, patterns, that kind of thing, which kind of reduces my options (there are plenty of gorgeous patterns in the higher priced bedding, but I can't afford two $400 sets). And I'm being fussy about color, which also doesn't help lol. I've narrowed it down to these three, so far - please let me know what you think!
I've also included a total (estimated) cost per room, in case that influences anyone's decision. Obviously the cheaper we can go, the better, but none of these are totally out of the question, price-wise. (Side note: can you believe the exact same crib that's $99 in the USA is $239 here?! And it's by far the cheapest one I've found!)
#1 - JJ Cole Blue Bullseye Bedding
Pros: It's fairly affordable at $147.15 per set, and I like the contrast of circles and stripes
Cons: I'm not sure how I feel about the orange. I like the pop of bright color - I'm just not sure how well it will work in reality with the carpet color we have in that room. I could also go with chocolate accents, but...eh, I'm kind of over the blue/brown combo that's so predominant right now.
Total cost of room (plus paint): $961.27
#2 - MiGi Pinwheel Bedding
Pros: I really like the funky starburst pattern and it has good reviews on Amazon.
Cons: First, I'd have to make a decision about this ASAP, as this bedding has actually been discontinued (and it's relatively popular, so it will probably sell out within a month or so). Also, I'm not sure I'm loving the color of paint it would require - one of the reviews I read said she'd found an exact paint match to the blue in the sheet and skirt (Behr Ionic Sky, in case you're interested), so that's the color I've put on the walls - it's not bad, but I think I'd prefer more of a soft blue to a bright aqua in that room.
Total cost of room (plus paint): $1120.97
#3 - Land of Nod Full Circle Bedding

Pros: I love this bedding. Loooooove it. Love the quilted look, love the colors, love the patterns. It also has great reviews for how soft and durable it is.
Cons: It's the most expensive of the three - if I was buying just one it wouldn't be a problem, but with two it's nearly $200 more expensive than #1. I cannot find this anywhere but Land of Nod, so I think it's exclusive to them, which means I can't comparison shop (I also can't find any helpful coupon codes for them - only for free shipping).
Total cost of room (plus paint): $1152.97

Photoshop doc with about a million layers lol - I just click to the ones I want.
same for me
But Christine's idea is great too!
I thought you were not completely decided on getting a bedding set, maybe you will be able to find separates that you like better to save even more money.
I've been looking at separates, but honestly, nothing really floats my boat. Even more so than the sets lol. I know I'm just being WAY too fussy and need to get over myself... If I decide to forgo patterns altogether though, I'll probably end up going with some pretty (solid color) separates that I've seen.
I am very partial to orange too! It just adds that extra bit of colour!
I like the 1st & 3rd one but I voted for #1 because I'm really partial to orange right now, especially the rust orange hue. I love the pop of color it gives. What color are your carpets? If it's the same as the picture I'm sure it'll look fine.
But if you loooooove the 3rd one and you guys can afford it, I say go for it! Especially since you mentioned that you're having difficulty finding anything that floats your boat.
I PPH #3, but I like this mix of 1+2 also!
They're kind of the color in the picture...not quite as bright. It's older carpet, so it's not all one shade, it's that marbled look (cream and beige) that was really popular a while back. It's hard to describe lol!
Of the ones you've posted, I voted for #2. That said, here are some other options to consider...all from Overtstock.com. They offer $2.95 s/h and if you want you can have the stuff shipped to me and I'll send it to you.
Babykins Fancy Block 9-piece Bedding Set $83
Stacked Blocks 4-Pc Crib Set $43
Bacati Aqua Chocolate 12-piece Crib Bedding Set $113
Also, I think you originally liked the Dwell Studio Dots for Target, right? They have them at my local Target (I believe I saw them yesterday) even though they've been discontinued online. I could double check for you.

Then I'm almost positive the orange will look good with your carpeting. We bought these throw pillows (to kneel on) for the wedding that are burnt orange with a cream stitched design on them and the combo looks really nice together! My vote still stands for the first one. I really like the way it looks!
