My big 1-1-10 news!

So I POAS & got my BFP!!  We had been TTC since July, but this was only my 2nd month charting & following TCOYF...apparently it worked for us!  What a great way to start of a new decade!

My only concern is no symptoms yet.  I should have started my period on Thursday or Friday so I took a test Friday & Saturday morning...both said PG.  But no symptoms at all yet...no sensitive breasts, no nausea, no anything.  Was this normal for you?  Everyone I have talked to said they knew b/c of their breasts even before they took a test.  Is it odd to not have any physical symptoms yet?

(oh & I am sure this goes without saying, but I am not telling anyone yet so if anyone is my friend on FB...please don't mention anything!  Wink)

  • Congratulations! That is wonderful news!

  • Oh wow, Vanessa!!!!  Congratulations!!!!  This is definitely a great way for you and your husband to start off the new decade (and chapter) of your lives together!  :)
  • Congratulations!  And welcome to the club!

I wouldn't worry so much about not having symptoms.  I didn't really have any.  Just be grateful that you feel good still, in case they sneak up on you.  Stick out tongue

  • Congratulations! 2010 is bound to be a great year for you and your hubby.
  • Aww congrats! What a great way to start the new year!
  • Oh, Vanessa!  I'm so happy for you!!!  I saw the title of your post and was hoping that's what it was!

I think it's pretty normal not to feel anything right away.  I did have the sore boobs for about two days, then they went away and came back about two weeks later (now haven't left.....boo!).

  • Congrats!!! So happy for you and YH! I didn't really have any symptoms either aside from my normal PMS symptoms (I did have sensitive breasts, but I always do when I'm on PMS so I didn't notice the difference). And even though I suffered from extreme m/s later on, I wasn't nauseous at all until the 8th week of pg, so if you have any symptoms, it would probably come later on and not this early. Congrats again though! Definitely a happy new year =)

  • Congratulations!!! I wouldn't worry about not having any symptoms at this stage - I know it seems like you should, but it's still really early. With my first BFP, I had pretty much zero in the way of symptoms until about a week later. With this one, I had mildly tender breasts, but even they weren't that bad - otherwise, I didn't have much in the way of symptoms until about 8 weeks (I didn't even have morning sickness until 11 weeks). I know you kinda want symptoms to make it more real, but seriously, enjoy it while it lasts lol.

This! My boobs never got sore until the end.

  • Congratulations!!

I wouldn't worry about not having symptoms yet - every pregnancy is different - it's one of those weird things that makes me wonder how the drs know what is "normal"! :)

  • Well happy new year!  That's fantastic news...be sure to add yourself to the next mama-to-be check-in post.

As for symptoms...everyone is different.  Some gals have them before their BFP and some never get them (hence why there's a lot of "I didn't know I was pregnant" types out there).

I had sensitive breasts, increased appetite and noticeable blue veins by the time I got my BFP, but the nausea, fatigue, etc. came a few weeks later.

  • Congratulations!!! We got our BFP on 1-2-09. It seems like yesterday... Wow, you are in store for such a ride!

If it helps, I didn't have many symptoms either, just that I was HUNGRY and MOODY. And late period. But I spotted so I just thought it was a light period. When we finally tested on the 2nd I was 5 1/2 weeks already!

  • WOW!  Congrats.  What a happy new year!
  • Thanks for all of the congratulations, and for all of the info. I don't want to jinx not having any symptoms...I would be happy if the only thing that changed was my appetite & waistline!  Just wanted to make sure it was somewhat normal.

We are super excited!  and I guess y'all were right...it's in the water!

  • congrats!

Like others have said, don't worry about no symptoms - my boobs never have hurt or been sensitive and only very recently have they physically changed in appearance (other than getting bigger in the 2nd tri).

Morning sickness/nausea did come from no where at around week 6 though for me.

  • congrats way to start off the new decade!!
  • congrats!!! what a great new year's surprise :)

oh and don't worry about symptoms...some women have them, some don't - perfectly normal!

  • Wahoo!  Congrats and you're fine, not everyone has PG symptoms.  I didn't really have any until about 6 weeks or so.
  • Congrats Vanessa, that's wonderful news!

  • Congratulations!!!!  Here's to a GREAT year!!!!
