Now that is adversity. . .
Re: Now that is adversity. . .
I have to say that I agree with this one.
Cinnabun and Junebug say, "Go Wildcats!"
Actually, I thought it was great TT won (DH is a Red Raider alum), but MSU was on the field without what, 10 or 12 players? They played a top notch game considering. My BF is a die hard Spartan alumni, so someone in my life was going to be unhappy, no matter what the outcome
I did think it was shiit that they kept bringing up Leach every 2 minutes. STFU and let the players and coaches who are there, on both sides, be the focus.
Adversity or not, this hoopla with Leach has no doubt been a distraction to the team regardless of how they feel about Leach. Though I always like to see Big Ten teams win, I was glad to see TT win this one (my sis works in their athletic department so I've found myself rooting for them a little more).
Playing a bowl game without a head coach is always difficult, regardless of the details surrounding the situation.
Of course, MSU didn't exactly have an easy time either, given that they were missing 14 players.
14. Their backup QB wound up being their #3 WR for the game. Did you see the series with the fake field goal? Three different guys threw passes during that drive. Really, this was an excellent game between two teams who've had a rough end of the year.
And Bender, not all Tech players are glad Leach was fired. Opinion is split. The James family has received death threats. Regardless of how one feels about the whole situation, it's been a big black eye and a huge distraction for the players. They had a lot to deal with coming in to this game.
As did Florida's players, and those from Cincinatti... I think it's fair to say that all three of these teams (obviously, TT and Florida especially) did a fine job working through the numerous distractions.
