OB/GYN in SI or NYC area

Hello!  Can anyone recommend a good OB/GYN in SI or NYC area?  Does not matter if it is M/F.  I am looking for a doc who knows what they are doing, professional, and preferrably has a greater vaginal birth rate than c-section. TIA!

Re: OB/GYN in SI or NYC area

  • I don't know his vaginal vs c-section birth rate, but I really like my OB/GYN.  His name is Dr. Lynn Rapp, and he's on SI on the corner of Hylan & Beach (across from the kmart plaza)

  • I don't know if he has a higher rate of vaginal deliveries vs. C-sections, but I love him none the less. I go to Dr. Durgam on Ralph Place (across from the old Dr's hospital) and he is wonderful. He has great bedside manner and is extremely professional. There is usually never a long wait (maybe 1/2 an hr. at the most). I've been going to him for about 13 years and I highly recommend him. Best of luck...

  • Nova726 - Do you know what Dr. Rapp's office hours are?  I also found 2 other great reviews about him on ratemd.com ... so I am probably going to call his office tomorrow.  Thanks!

I go to Durgam too!! i can't say enough great things about him!! I suffered a m/c in Sept. and for this pg he's been so fanastic. He's been checking me weekly and actaully calls to check up on me. I'm so happy my SIL recommended him to me. Best doctor i've ever had by far.

  • Not off the top of my head, but I usually go at night if that helps at all.  He gets really behind schedule on Mondays, so I would try to avoid his office on a Monday night if you can help it.

  • I love my OBGYN....well, as much as one can love someone who shoves swab up your hoo hoo. His name is Brian Park and is on the UES. After going to a female doctor, she was too rough. I feel that a lot of women doctors aren't very gentle because they have a vagina. Men are a lot more cautious, IMO.
