I just stepped on the scale...
4 pounds put on over Christmas. Eek! I knew the leftover desserts from my parents' party would be my downfall.
Right now, I'm saying they're worth it - especially the Triple Chocolate Attack bars... and the Hawaiian bars... ooh! And the gingerbread cookies... and the Black Forest Parfaits.
So, anyone have recipes that are good for clearing out the system from excess amounts of sugar and butter? Mostly I just want to live off miso soup...
Re: I just stepped on the scale...
Just as Amy mentioned and also too during the holidays, we tend also lounge a bit a more than usual. I would also think once you get back into your routine and are walking a bit more that will also help burn more calories.
I think most of us gain weight during the holidays (how can you resist all those yummy food? lol) but i guess the good thing is, it's over and you can have a fresh start :-). agree with pp nothing beats good ol exercise and eating healthy food.
I think 4 pounds is about my average holiday weight gain too...not bad at all! my key to losing it this year was getting the flu and not being able to keep any food down for the past 4 days. i could bottle you some and send to canada (but it might be illegal to send germs over the border??)
no, seriously, in the past when i've felt icky after the holidays (usually from too much drinking) I've done a brown rice and twig tea cleanse. Nothing but brown rice and twig tea (which you can find at your local health food store) for the first three days, then you can add in plain, steamed veggies (no butter or oil) for the next three days. You'll feel great afterwards.
