Poll: New Years Resolutions

Did you make any New Year Resolutions? What do you hope the new year brings? If you didn't make any resolitions have you in the past?

Re: Poll: New Years Resolutions

  • DH and I are going to work harder at spending more time w/ family.  Of course we're very limited b/c of our schedules, but we have so much of his family in town that its hould be easy if we only put forth the effort.

We're also gonna work on finances.

DH has some personal ones that he needs to work on.

  • no resolutions this year--there is stuff that I want to do and need to do but I would rather make them in my time I guess instead of saying that they are a resolution

  • I usually don't make resoluations, but I did make one this year.  My resolution is to do the prayers more in my small group for church.  At the end of discussion each time, we can say if we have any prayer requests and then each of us can take one of the requests if we want to, and prayer for it outloud together.  For some reason I'm not comfortable praying outloud in front of other people.  So I usually don't volunteer to do one.  But I need to get over this fear of mine, so my resolution is to do a prayer at the small group each week.  Last night was our first group of our new book, and did one of the prayers and I didn't do as badly as I thought I would. :)  But I was still sooooo nervous to do it!

  • Did you make any New Year Resolutions? I don't make resolutions, I make goals. I signed myself up for 3 runs on Jan 1st. 10k Mudrun in June, half-marathon in May, and a bike marathon in Oct. It will keep my motivated to run and stay active.

What do you hope the new year brings? A prosperous year, and enjoying married life.

If you didn't make any resolutions have you in the past? for the past 5 years, I have always keep the mantra to keep healthy & eat right. ;-)

Did you make any New Year Resolutions?

I decided I wanted to work on me more - I've been feeling really "blah" lately and not really fond of a number of things so I've decided I want to change those things. I'm looking at it more as a new year, new me and less of a resolution.

What do you hope the new year brings?

    A house :)

and maybe a baby...or at least a pregnancy

If you didn't make any resolutions have you in the past?

I have in the past - nothing too substantial and nothing I ever stuck to. Last year I had decided I was going to quit smoking - it didn't work out so much in January, but I finally got around to it in November...better late than never I suppose ;)

  • New Years Resolution is to quit drinking and go to the gym more often, and also to spend more time with Dh.

To get pregnant and to paint some rooms in the house.

I made my resolitions a little more real this year!

  • I made one...I want to lose 20 pounds.  Art laughed at me when I said this because he said 20?  He wants to lose a lot more. I said HEY I am starting with 20.  If I say I want to lose 50 pounds that sounds like a goal I can't reach.  I am starting off small!

I am hoping 2010 brings us a house!  One that doesn't need a complete overhaul and is in our price range. :)

  • I have 3

    1. to be more apeciative of what i have

    2. lose some weight adn then get pregnant

    3. focus on my budget more and watch spending

  • I vow to be better with money this year and going forward. I didn't do as well financially as I should have in 2009.

I hope the new year continues to bring miracles and blessings for me, my family and friends.

  • I guess I did.  It's funny.  They don't feel like resolutions, but I guess they are.  I want to study Spanish again.  I used to be pretty good at it, so I'm hoping to bring it back.  (Also, keep up my Japanese).  I also want to lose some weight, read more often and take a picture a day.  So far, so good.

I hope this year is better than last year.  2009 was okay, but was a huge transition for Daniel and I.  I'm hoping to feel more settled this year.

  • Did you make any New Year Resolutions?

My hubby and I both want to lose weight but we are bad a weight loss goals so we decided to set a fitness goal instead.  We are going to climb a mountain this summer.  Actually this mountain Colorado has 58 14ers (peaks with elevation 14K or higher) and we have never been on any of them.  We need to be in good shape to make the trip so we are starting training today.

I'm also going to start looking and applying for jobs in March and hopefully will have a new one by next summer.

Those are my two big goals for the year. And we want to buy a new tv.  but i don't think that counts :)
