Grocery Shopping = Epic Fail

I was too tired and sore to do the shopping today, so I sent D with a very detailed list.  He's usually really good at doing the shopping, so I don't know what happened today.

I asked him to pick up an inside round roast on sale for 1.99 a pound.  The type of roast and the price was on the list.  He brought back a $21 prime rib - yikes!  Nice, but considering it's for my parents to cook while they're here and they like their roasts extra well done, they don't get prime rib!

  • I haven't been on this board in months but I was thinking about you during Christmas so I decided to pop pn and see if you had your baby yet and how you are doing.  Looks like you are having a baby boy.  Congratulations.  Hopefully he will be here anyday for you to hold in your arms.  The last few days are tough, hang in there.  It will be worth it.  Here's wishing you a quick and safe delivery.  Good luck!

Thank you so much.  Actually, tomorrow's the big day - we have a C/S scheduled for the morning!  You're right, the past couple of weeks have been tough, with high BP and lots of swelling, but I'm just trying to take it in stride.

I hope you're doing well and that we see more of you on the board this year!

  • lol... my DH cannot stand grocery shopping with a list, he would probably do the same thing (or instead of the roast, get something else altogether!!!)

This exactly. My DH will either get something else altogether or just won't get the item at all.   At least he was in the ball park!  And good luck tomorrow.

  • If I send DH to the grocer store I can expect at least 2-3 phone calls confirming the list. It's sometimes not worth sending him alone.

  • I am always told that I am very lucky that DH always does the grocery shopping. Unfortunately the man cannot pass up a really good deal, no matter what the item is. Creates quite an interesting pantry.
