It's my first day alone with Elyse!

Today is my first day home alone with Elyse.  Our family is all gone and Russ is back to work.  I was dreading today, but it's actually pretty fabulous!

I've been a bad nestie.  With the Christmas season and getting the hang of being a mommy I've been MIA.  But I've been e-stalking you guys from my phone in the middle of the night while I'm up feeding Elle, but it's a pain in the butt to reply from my phone.

We're doing really good.  Elle wasn't gaining enough weight last week, but she's since caught up and is gaining perfectly now. She's a snacker, so she feeds for shorter amounts of time more frequently.  Which means that often during the day I have about 45 min in between feedings.  But in the night time she has been sleeping for two 4 hour blocks.  I was concerned about this but my midwife said to just be thankful while it lasts Smile

I'm hoping I'll be able to get online more often as life gets into a new routine.

  • Totally understandable...you've got your hands full!  You must be exhausted with having to feed her so often!  But the two 4 hour sleeps sound nice.  That's more than I get now without baby!  Haha.

Can't wait to see more pics!  And did you ever get your maternity photos back?  I wanna see!

  • No worries about not being on TN. With the holidays and Elyse, it's totally understandable. Good to hear that you and Elyse are doing well and I'm glad that she's gaining more weight now!

  • What a whirlwind you've had!  Congrats!  Glad to hear BFing is going well and you're settling into life as a mommy.  As soon as you had Elle I became next on the list!  D'oh!  I am getting anxious...I am ready to be a mommy and tired of being pg at this point.  Only a few weeks to go!

We haven't gotten our maternity pics back yet.  I'm anxious to see them though.

I'm trying to decide if I'll do one month shots with Elyse.

I saw you were next!!   I remember thinking "Ack" when my name was next.  Thanks for updating my stats with Elyse's name!

I'm excited for you to become a momma and have all these amazing experiences.

  • I was really worried I'd have a hard time w/my 1st day alone too but it wasn't too bad either! i'm glad E's gaining plenty of weight now, sounds like the increased feedings is working! i'd recommend a laptop if you don't already have one, helps pass the time while nursing...sometimes i get on the nest, other times i watch tv online....and congrats on getting those 4 hr blocks, they're a godsend that early on!
