Laundry....

Do you tend to do laundry on a scheduled day or do you spread it out over the week?

Re: Laundry....

  • No scheduled laundry time here, I just do it when the piles get ridiculous and I have no clean undies, haha. Stick out tongue
  • Wellllllllll

According to my chor chart, I should do it 3x a week...

Realisticly DH will tell me that he ran out of underwear 2 days ago, I will freak out, do all the laundry in one day...and then watch it pile back up.

    UGH

    LMAO!
  • I run out of work pants.  But now that J is at home, he does the laundry and piles it on the bed.  I still have to put it away.  It's usually wrinkled by the time I get to it.  Boo.  Oh well...I just run them through a few minutes of the dryer cycle...or iron them if they're really bad.
  • Laundry is the one chore I hate the most.  Marjority of the reason being that my washer and dryer are in an outside laundry room.  Any other home I have been in where the laundry room was inside, I had no problem because I could hear the buzzer for off or the machine stop and would know.  With it outside, I easily forget about it and/or its TOO FREAKIN COLD and I dont want to go out to put wet cold clothes over to the dryer.  Yuck.
  • Karrey that may be my issue as well.

The laundry is in the garage. So I have to go outside and around....

BECAUSE the door through the kitchen is broken (has been for like 4 months) and DH is so not handy :( I guess I have to fix it myself.

  • Laundry is done either Friday night or Saturday.

  • You'll have to ask my DH.  He made a deal with me that he'll do all the laundry if I do all his ironing.  Done and Done!!

This is what it's like in our place too! I'm trying to get better, but we're gone so freaking much it's hard to stay on top of.

I am beyond jealous of you.  I love to iron.  I could iron all day long.
  • I spread it out during the week, but I'm able to since I work from home most days.  I tend to do clothes on one day and then linens/towels another.  I don't mind it, I love doing laundry Embarrassed

  • I try to do a load every day so that there's always clothes in the washer/dryer/ready to be folded.

It stinks, our washer and dryer are in the basement so in order to get stuff I have to go down to the scariest place ever.  I sound like a big baby but there are SPIDERS down there.  And a gerbil (or there was a gerbil 3 years ago that got down there, and now there is a gerbil skeleton somewhere down there).

  • I never minded laundry until now and I used to do a load almost every day.  D's chef clothes are nasty so I have to keep up with them often.  If it werent for trecking out into the 30 degree weather, I would be good.
  • We usually do it on the weekends.  DH and I do our own laundry through.  God forbid I mess up one of his uniforms.  Those things are expensive and he would never let me forget it!

Me too that's why I love this little deal he made.  He thinks he got the better end of the deal but in all honesty I soooo did!  (Insert evil snicker)

  • I do all the laundry in our apartment sized washer & dryer, which means about 3-4 loads a week. He should be the one doing it considering his clothes are so much bigger than mine! And I iron all his work shirts & pants ughhh! I honestly wouldn't mind it if we had a full size, it just takes forever. I don't schedule a day, but usually try to get at least 2 loads done in the same day so I'm in "laundry mode" lol

I hear ya on that.  Not only does D have his regular weekly clothes but he has his chef clothes too which all have to be done seperate because I have to bleach the hell out of his jackets and wash them in hot water.  Pants cant be mixed with the regular clothes because they are just yuck.  Then he wears regular pants that are ten freakin sizes too big.  I'm married to 12 year old skater punk.  I wish he would grow up......

  • No set day, just when I start running out of sucks and undies! DH does his every Sunday. He thinks I do it wrong, so he wont let me do his. (The wrong way that I do it... I put all the stuff in the washer, the turn the water on and add soap at the same time. He likes to fill it first with water then put in detergent, then put in clothes). Whatever.

  • I usually do it all in one day, and then another day I do all the puppy laundry (couch cover, towels, bed covers). I tend to do it either mondays or wednesdays, so before or after DH's weekend, depending on how we're doing on clothes.

Of course, that's all about to change, with baby clothes and cloth diapers... I'll need to get more organized, as I don't want to wash diapers before nor after puppy laundry.

  • We set Sun/Mon as laundry day and do it every other week. Sunday we organize all of the clothes into piles and start washing/drying. Usually, DH finished it on Monday bc we don't get it finished on Sunday.

We're lucky though. Our house has the laundry room upstairs which is where most of the rooms are and most importantly our bedroom is =D.
