Smoking ban
Any ladies who smoke and/or DH's smoke? How is this smoking ban treating all of you?
I am so excited about it. My asthma was so bad anytime we would eat out or go to a bar. Even if we sat in the non-smoking area.
The other night we went out for DH's birthday and all the smokers were gathered outside (like back in NY and NJ) and they were all cursing and freaking out about smoking in the cold.
Just curious about your thoughts..

Even when my husband and I were heavy smokers, we didn't usually smoke in restaurants. There's something about subjecting other people to the harmful decisions that we chose for our own bodies that turned us off.
I was even iffy about smoking in my own car while I was in the drive-thru. I knew other people could smell it and it bothered me to think that I was bothering others, if that makes sense.
I'm looking forward to being in a smoke-free restaurant. FL passed the smoking ban a year or two before we moved and it was great... and that was when we were smokers (we quit 2 years ago), so we're *really* excited now

I remember going to Nashville a few years ago and enjoying their smoking ban. I appreciate it because I don't smoke and it really chokes me up when people around me do so. I don't know what the exact laws are, but in Nashville they were allowed to smoke in 21+ bars. I thought it was cool because there were still places for smokers to be able to smoke inside, but I had plenty of other options for myself.
I read an article in the newspaper the other day that they weren't allowing smoking in Hooka bars. I've never been to one, but it seems to me like we should let them smoke there, seeing as how that's what the entire business is centered around... any other opinions or further knowledge about that?
I LOVE this new law. I hate smoke. It really bothers my contacts and makes my eyes red and watery. I always avoided going to those really tiny, smoky bars because of it (not that DH and I go to bars much anymore.)
