We are officially Non home owners...

I forgot to mention, we took back our offer on Saturday. I hope we didnt lose our deposit ,we have yet to see his signed copy of the release. The seller is a a JERK, and he will probably try to keep it.

Anyways, I think we are gonna give the house hunting a rest till some new homes come on the market.

  • Aww that stinks...But probably for the best.  Especially since you didnt LOVE it upon the second (or was it third) visit. 

    I'm sure the right one is out there for you somewhere.

  • Im sorry it didnt work out the way you wanted. There are always home poppin gup on the market. Can you have your agetn make a little portal for you? Thats what ours did, and then every day I would get emailed updates of new houses, houses that sold, and houses that dropped their prices.
  • I'm sorry it didn't work out, but it seems like dropping it was for the best.  I hope you guys are able to come across something soon, you'll find something perfect!

  • I hope you get your deposit back. It's probably best you didn't go forward with the deal if the seller is a jerk.

  • Why would the seller have a deposit at this point?  We put $3000 in escrow, but that was held by our real estate agency until the closing date.

     The seller doesnt have the deposit. It is being held by the realator.. But, we only get it back if the seller signs the form saying we took back our offer. If both parties do not sign, there could be problems.

  • We had an offer in on a house, before this one, but i don't know if the sellers had to sign for our escrow to come back to us.  The real estate agent just gave it back to us.  I didn't know the seller had to sign to release the money.  (at least in our case).  Sorry for any confusion on my part!

    If he doesn't sign in a reasonable amount of time, I'd look into going to small claims court.  That could be problematic for him as he continues to attempt to sell the house.

  • So disappointing, but like others said, probably for the best. This will just be a house you'll look back on and say "Wow, how sucky would it be if we would have bought THAT house?"

     

  • Good luck! It will be for the best and I hope the guy will give you back your deposit!  That would be soooo sucky!!
  • That sucks, but at least you don't have to deal with all the hassles of it. Plus, you weren't in love with it after another visit, so it's better off to keep looking.
