Hello 30s...what will you bring me?
Today is my 30th birthday and I can't help but wonder what the next decade will bring. I am not sad to say goodbye to my 20s, but I do want to make sure I "make the most" of my 30s. With that in mind, I want to pose a question for the board:
What do you hope to accomplish in your 30s (or whatever the 'next' big decade is for you)?
Have a great Monday ladies
Re: Hello 30s...what will you bring me?
I turned 30 last March and it's been awesome! Everything that I was supposed to complete in my 20s is getting completed now--it was kind of like a wake-up call (as in, "Munkii, get your stuff together!").
Felicidades! And have a fabulous day!
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
As me again what i want to do in my 30's when I'm 29 (two years). Though even then, I'm kinda a leaf being blown where God takes me. You know what they say. "You want to hear God laugh? Tell him your plans."
Like Karen said above...just be ready for anything. I thought I had my life planned out. Maybe not
During my 30's, I had weight loss surgery and lost 110 pounds, we moved to 3 different states, my husband lost his mom to cancer and at the funeral found out he was adopted by them as an infant. Two years later he had his first heart attack and started what would become a yearly emergency room/ICU nightmare. I went down to 96 pounds before someone figured out my problem. And the list goes on....
But through all that, I raised an amazing daughter with the best husband ever, saw the country on the company plan, and along the way collected the most wonderful friends who have made my life work. So, put on your seat belt, throw any idea of expectations out the car window, and dive in. Just do what works for you and your husband and children...no one elses opinion counts and you don't get a second try!
Happy Birthday!
I still have most of my 20s left and have a lot of figuring out to do...

LOL - good call!
Happy Birthday! I'm really excited for 30, actually. I am 2.5 years away, and was terrified of it a few years ago, but I've got quite a few over-thirty friends and their lives are awesome. It seems like 30 makes you more comfortable in your skin and confident in yourself (not that I am failing in either of those areas currently but you can always use a boost!).
I'm hoping to be a homeowner and mother in my 30s. I'm planning to start grad school next year which will put me finishing right at 30, then DH and I plan to find somewhere to settle down (cause DC is not working for me!) and buy a home and make babies. So...we will see where life takes us

I just turned 33 and all I can tell you is that 33 is only different from 23 or 43 if you want it to be! I had my life all planned out and I haven't done practically any of the goals I had set for myself way back when I was much younger... and I couldn't care less! Obviously, what I thought I should do, and what it turned out I was actually supposed to do are two very different things. So I say, it's good to aim high and to have an idea of who you want to be, but don't get hung up on numbers and deadlines. You'll only drive yourself nuts!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!! I turn 27 in February and I can't believe 10 will be coming up in three years. I don't feel as old as I am- where has the time gone? I feel like I was just in college, but it was nearly 5 years ago that I graduated.
I've been doing a lot of soul searching career-wise lately. So I hope my 30's brings me stability and happiness in my job. DH and I have discussed starting TTC when we turn 30 (if we haven't started before then), and we hope to have a home before 30. I hope to go after things that I really want to do, and not let "being afraid" get in the way of accomplishing my goals.
Thanks for the birthday wishes and thanks for sharing your "plans." I definitely have some goals for the next few years (pay off debt, find stability in my career, buy our current home), but in the long run I completely realize I'm just along for the ride.
Thanks for a great Monday!
Happy Birthday!
I turn 30 this month too - I was more freaked out at 28 than I am at the big 30. Took stock of my first ten years out of high school and realized that I was no where even close to where I thought I'd be. But that's ok, and life takes you where you need to go (detours sometimes happen).
Have a wonderful birthday, year, decade - may your life be filled with lots of fun times!
