I need some Cake inspiration!
As many of you know I took the 1st 2 Wilton cake decorating courses so I have now become the family bakery! My sister's birthday is next Wednesday and I can't think of a cake decoration/theme for her. Do any of you have links to good websites or blogs where I can view some pictures of other birthday cakes? To make it all the more difficult, my mom's birthday is exactly 1 week later so I have to think of something to do for her too! I think I have my mom's already in my head, I just need my sisters.

7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle!
9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.
Re: I need some Cake inspiration!
My mom is an icing freak so she'd love one covered with big icing roses and frou-frou. I'd be more happy with a basket weave or swiss dots-kind of boring! Or you could just cover the entire cake in chocolate shavings & curls and I'd be really happy!
This website is hilarious when it comes to cakes. It does have some good looking cakes among all the wrecks!

I absolutely LOVE this website! It's the first blog I look at every morning. I spent some time Googling cakes and cupcakes last night and I think I have come to the conclusion that I am going to make a cupcake bouquet... I will let you all know how it turns out!

This cake was made for my bridal shower, and it was beautiful and delicious. Even though it is a bridal shower cake, I think it could be used as birthday.
As a forwarning: it does use fondant, and I know some people don't like fondant..
