It's that kind of day

My car has a flat and looks like it's going to need two front tires, DH's exhaust is screwed DD's snow suit won't zip up anymore and her coat is getting really tight.  Our downstairs toilet is busted leaving us with one working bathroom and the shower is leaking into the livingroom. The roads are crap and mom is late getting her so I can get to the mechanics to get the car fixed so at least on vehicle is working for DH to drive to work.  DD is teething and the propane truck just pulled out of our driveway leaving me with a bill that is scary high and I will have to call my inlaws for help because this is the second time in three weeks the truck has shown up and if it weren't for all of the other things I would be able to afford it but as it is...AND BTW a vent that I don't want to throw at DH but am gonna.

When I did the budget up a few months ago we agreed that he would get $100 a paycheque to play with and so would I.  Guess what.  He is always in the overdraft and it costs a fortune.  Know where it goes.  DH spends about $150 on pop and junk every two weeks and I pay the shortfall out of my allowance.

Re: It's that kind of day

  • Yowza. When it rains, it pours! Sorry you have to deal with all of that.

I can relate to the frustration of DH's spending habits. It's hard to change the way we think about money, and how we spend it. I hate the very idea of overdraft. It's a slippery slope.

I hope your day gets better!

  • I would be hella pissed about the budget thing. What does he say when you show him the numbers? Can you go to a cash allowance system?
