My cousin with all of the awful health problems found out today that she is in fact a candidate for a liver transplant. Of course that doesn't guarantee anything but least knowing that it COULD be an option is important. She was able to go home for a couple days for the holidays but is back in the hospital again but doing ok given the circumstances.
My coworkers little girl is all finished with her radiation at St. Jude and they have allowed them to come home and do some treatment here for a month until she goes back to Memphis to start her chemo. Coincidentally, a local family was swapping places at the time and S is allowing this family to use their apartment during their stay. It's so wonderful to hear how much people are willing to give during a crisis like this.....L currently has the cutest little blonde pixie do and other than not being able to balance well is in decent spirits. She is super relieved to be home even though she knows its a temporary situation. Having Christmas in Memphis wasnt ideal but with the help of our company we had a family member bring 1500 dollars worth of gifts over all wrapped and everything. Their school and church also did a collection on another day bringing loads of stuff too. S said that they were more than blessed.
We wont truly know anything until after her chemo about her tumor growing back. Since it is a one shot deal, they are treating it as aggresively as they possibly can. Scary, but St. Jude is so amazing and we believe this will work.
As always, keep the t's and p's coming and thank you so much! Novembie vibes work miracles.
