Former Oahu Brides...

Did you get married at the Ocean Crystal Chapel or have your reception in one of the ballrooms at the Kahala?  Do you have a married bio I could show to my recently engaged friend?

Hi ladies!  My friend got engaged on Christmas (yay!) and they're planning to get married on Oahu.  They're both local so they're doing a more "traditional" wedding rather than a "tropical/destination" wedding.  They're looking to have her ceremony at the Ocean Crystal Chapel & then having their reception inside one of the ballrooms at the Kahala.  I looked at the Hawaii brides bio but most of them are soo old that they're photobucket acct has expired or their photos are all blurrred (a la the Shutterfly fiasco I heard about).  I know there are a few ladies on here (Jaime, Tara & Nicole off the top of my head) who got married there but I'm having trouble finding Nicole's (mrsnicole&brian).  Anyone else that I'm missing?  Thanks in advance ladies!  :)

Re: Former Oahu Brides...

  • Nicole actually got married at the Paradise Crystal Chapel next to the Ihilani - it does look similar to the Ocean Crystal Chapel though! (This is the place your friend is thinking of, right?) You can see her revamped bio here. Smile

  • I got married and had my reception at The Kahala but it was in the small room (Kahala O Ke Kai)....only holds 40 people max.  If she's having a small wedding I'm happy to share my photos.

There were 2 other Knotties that got married right after me at The Kahala and used the bigger ballrooms but I can't remember their knot names - I just remember leaving them things with my wedding coordinator to use at their weddings.  One's real name was Vivian (lives in SoCal - maybe someone else will remember) and the other I can't recall the name but she lived in Seattle.

yeah, this was us too.  if they are local, they can also meet with local photographers and ask to look at their portfolios w/pics taken at those locations, that might help too

  • That's right Jamie!  How could I forget....your bio was the first time I saw The Kahala and totally fell in love with it!

Yup!  That's the place she's thinking of!  Didn't realize there were two different places like this!  Thanks Lisa!  (And thanks for the link to Nicole's new bio!)

  • Thanks ladies!  They're planning to go back to Oahu this Feb but she wanted an idea of what the larger ballrooms looked like before she left.  Amy, I know they're expecting a large turnout (since they're local) but I'll let her know you offered to share your photos with her.  Jaime, I already a sent her a link to your planning bio!  heeheehee!

Thanks again!  (This is why I love TN & TK!  You ladies are so awesome!)
