So why can't I find the ingredients in Gudonya?

I'm getting closer to breaking down and buying some, but it bothers me that I can't find an ingredient list...anyone have info I'm missing? I don't want to buy it unless I know what's in it.

Also, any reviews of their whipped body wash?

Re: So why can't I find the ingredients in Gudonya?

  • Love the body wash! I bought the shave bar and I am not that impressed with it. Love the shampoo and conditioner as well!
  • I think the ingredients are on the products, I am sure about the chapstick and conditioner. Just ask Tina, she's very responsive and helpful. I know she doesn't use SLS, parabens, etc.

I love the whipped clean. I just sort of stick my body puff thing on top and twist to get some and that's about all I need. It lathers really well.

Thanks-I think I'll email her for more info.

  • You can also order the products color and/or fragrance free.  :-)

Thanks! :) I will definately request color free because I just don't care about that. (but her scents seem so yummy...)

Dumb question about this, but that doesn't sound incredibly sanitary.  I know that's how their products are designed to be used, but body poufs come into contact with your body, which is generally covered in some level of bacteria or other icky things, and then you're putting that pouf in a jar of what I'm assuming would contain foodstuffs for bacteria and other organisms....ick.  Things like this are the reason I like pump bottles over jars.  Or maybe I'm just overthinking this....

    Yes, overthinking.

    Yes, overthinking.

Ditto. Newsflash: germs are a GOOD thing.

  • Interesting...they are listed as "materials" under each product, but they don't seem as natural as I would have thought. All ingredients are rated OK by the cosmetic database. (example...WTH is  tertasodiumetidronate????)

The products are not the epitome of environmentally-friendly that people on this board make them out to be, IMO. I do like the shampoo, but I don't think they're the "greenest" out there, nor do they use the best ingredients. Definitely room for improvement, but I don't know that the goal of the products is to be uber-natural - if it is the goal, I don't know why they use unnecessary ingredients like fragrance and color.

I agree...it kinda makes me rethink it?

All of the ingredients listed other than the color and fragrance get a 0, 1, or a 2...this is how I justify the EF-ness of the product.  I had your same concerns before I originally bought it and so I researched it quite a bit...It may not be the BEST Ef-wise...but it's pretty darn good I think. On the Cosmetic Database, you can enter any product and get a 'preliminary report'...I just did this for the shampoo and here's what came up...I hope you guys can see this without being logged in as me: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product.php?prod_id=301672

While I haven't gotten anything fragrance free yet, I probably should since fragrance is the one thing ranked pretty high. I just love her scents though. I'm pretty sure her reasoning for these products aren't to be EF..I think if anything it's more to be Vegan since she posts that in many of her products. But, I'm sure if you expressed your concerns to her, she'd have some great responses and she'd even value your opinion highly...she's really great with questions/concerns, etc.

Either way, while it may not be the epitome of eco-friendliness, it's pretty darn good, and it works freaking amazing on my hair, so I'll go with it for now :)
