Furniture Reccomendations?
In ten days, DH and I will be heading to blowing rock for 5 days. Some coworkers have mentioned looking for furniture in Hickory. Any other suggestions of where we should look?
Re: Furniture Reccomendations?
The Hickory Furniture Mart there is great. I've never been, but some of the folks we work for (in the furniture industry) speak highly of it.
Duh, and I think your best deals will probably be on the brands that still have a presence in the area--like Kincaid, Thomasville, CR Laine, Hickory Chair, Old Hickory Tannery to name a few, and of course Baker (which even on rock bottom clearance will be $$$$)
DH and I have been furniture shopping for a while now (still not made a purchase) - we are probably going to be hitting up the Hickory Furniture Mart (specifically Hickory Park) this Saturday.
For some reason the La-z-boy brand sounds really nice to me, but we are open to any brand really. What are y'all looking for? We need a recliner, love seat and dining room table/chairs.
**fingers crossed we go and find something**
We are looking for a dining room table/chairs and a server. We are looking for an entertainment center, living room furniture (undecided couches versus sectional), looking for a few accent table, some decorative chairs, a pub style table with chairs, two night stands and a hide a bar.
We have been looking since June and finally ordered office furniture last month.
That's a lot! We haven't been looking to long, but it's starting to wear me out, I'm just ready to buy something.
Depending on your style, if you are looking for a traditional "forever" dining room table, chairs and server, Hickory Chair would be one of my top "realistic" recommendations. It's WAY pricier than, say, Ikea, but the quality is top notch, so it's worth every penny. And it's made locally, so you can be proud of your purchase.
OHT has beautiful living room stuff, but all of it will be leather. Leather of ALL colors, shapes, sizes, etc--some of it is CRAZY! Their stuff may be on the expensive side as well, but again, worth it. La-Z-Boy would be a great option if you are looking at the lower end of the price spectrum. A lot of their goods are assembled stateside, from imported parts. I think a lot of their upholstery is still done in the US, so that's how they keep their prices competitive. HTHs!
Hickory Furniture Mart is great. They have a lot of brands under one roof. Not sure where you are located but if you are in the RDU area you might want to check out Green Front's. They carry a lot of upscale brands and you can get stuff at FABULOUS prices, lower than you can sometimes get directly from the brand store. I ordered 2 chairs from Green Front that are made by Hickory Chair and I got them for $700 less than what the Hickory Chair store quoted me! (I think because of the volume of business Green Front does with them).
Another great Hickory brand if you are looking for sofa's is Lake Hickey.
