I feel ridiculous.

I came to work dressed like this:

Cute, right? Huh?

But now I look like this. (One of the reasons I love my stupid job.)

Re: I feel ridiculous.

  • Please explain to me the merits of a Snuggie. I think I may be the only person left in America who (a) doesn't own one, and (b) has no desire TO own one.

  • Work that snuggie you hot biitch!
  • SBS, Even I'm not sure. It's basically a backward robe. It doesn't even tie in the back so it's all hospital gown-esque. But it is quite cozy. And us crazy East Coasters with our subzero temps need all the extra warmth in the winter!

Fancy - Rawr! Stick out tongue

  • Last night we went to CVS at 10:30pm and the woman in line in front of us was wearing a snuggie. I mostly get the idea of the snuggie, but should they really be worn out in public as coats? I think that's where I draw the line.

  • Biffle is wearing hers right now in her office next door to me. It's leopard print. I love it. They're such a hot fashion statement ;)
I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • My office is so cold right now, I wish I had one.  But I have a feeling people would not appreciate it -- my boss looks at me funny when I wear a scarf as part of my outfit.
  • The only place I'd need one is at work, but I don't think I could bring myself to wearing one. I sit here each day in pants, a shirt, a sweater and a lap blanket, and I'm still freezing at work.  So frustrating. But not as frustrating as not being able to see Mamie's pictures!

  • Zee, that's just... wow. I wish you would have snapped a pic!

Walt, I secretly wished I got the leopard instead of the pink. Oh well.

Hawki, what's wrong with a scarf??

    Leigha, I shall email. :)

  • Thanks, Mames! My only question is, who did you get to snap a picture without them shaking the camera from the giggles? :)

  • The photo-taker has a faux snuggie (but with snaps!) so she must not have been too amused by mine. After spending the past three hours in this thing, I still feel ridic.

  • We might have to all pitch in and get you a more fashionable one. Would you like the Longhorn snuggie?  :)

He always asks me if I'm cold... even the day I wore a thin scarf with a tshirt...  he just doesnt get it.

  • Well, I do appreciate the Longhorn shade of orange. haha

I think they need to have petite snuggies. Because this is hideously long and I have to hold it with my hands when I walk around.

My sister-in-law tied a hair tie around extra fabric at the nap of her neck and behind her calves to make it stay up and around her. It was hilarious.

  • So cute! I love your office mames.

I think now that I'm officially part of this stinky cold weather club, I may have to get one too!!?

Thanks, angel! BU for you, btw.

Hopefully you won't need a Snuggie and your cold weather will just vanish!

  • I resisted for a really long time, but I got one for Christmas (leopard) and I absolutely love it.  It's better than a space heater pointed directly on me.  Now I don't know how I ever lived without it.
  • I wore mine as a robe the other day and tucked the top part into my collar and the bottom part into my underwear. It was fabulous....... and so warm.

    I'm SO on Team Snuggie.

  • hm..there was a guy in my class to wore one to school (like walked across campus in it) and during our class. Old crotchety law professor was not that amused.

I've heard from reliable sources that Snuggies serve many useful purposes. ; )

  • for my birthday my bro got me a pink snuggie that says Snugg Life on the front in big gothic letters... err... yeah.  Not a pink person.... not an As Seen on TV person....

Turns out it's actually fabulous couchwear.  I don't think you're meant to go anywhere though... what with the open back (very drafty when I get up to refresh my tea!) and the superlong front...  but the length does come in handy to cover my feet when I stretch out on the couch. The other issue is static... I gave DH a nasty shock yesterday.  Kudos to the woman who was able to maneuver it at CVS.

Yes, the static is deadly.  Do you ever have a cat sit on your lap while you're wearing one?  Petting him could solve the energy crisis.  Totally a renewable resource.

  • Ugh yes, the static! Though I am proud of myself for maneuvering the Snuggie in the bathroom.

  • Also, I'm totally loving "SNUGG LIFE." I want to start a Snuggie gang now.

  • Yeah, today I figured out that if you stand up and twist the front of the snuggie, then toss it over your shoulder, it becomes much more manageable for walking.  sort of pashmina-esque.  I celebrated by wearing it while making dinner.... until the sleeves got in the way.

but that's just how I roll in the Snugg Life... you gotta take risks... (I now have gangsta's paradise running through my head for no good reason)

I haven't tried any cat-snuggie experiments (I'm allergic) and have so far avoided any labrador-snuggie incidents... although the dog does seem to enjoy sleeping on it when I'm not home.  Someone should really look into the whole static-as-renewable-resource thing, I think you might be onto something.
