Anyone have New Year's Resolutions?
ehhh.... after a lovely meal at the Olive Garden last night, I am starting to watch what I eat again. H and I started this last year and the holidays did not help me one bit (we started doing this on 1/20/09 and I have lost 22 lbs and H has lost over 50.... I am very proud of him but at the same time he stinks!)
Re: Anyone have New Year's Resolutions?
my resolution this year is to be less concerned with the lives of others. not so much keep my nose out of other people's business... but worry less about others. if i know someone is going through a rough spot or is making poor decisions, i literally worry about it like its my own life.
i stress myself over other people, which may be a good quality that i care so much for others, but it really is an unhealthy habit. i've had a lot of health problems lately and the doctors are insisting it is stress. so DH and i are trying to pinpoint the things i stress about the most and eliminate them. this is definitely one.
I have two resolutions this year:
1) Quit smoking.
2) Get the house clean and organized and keep it that way.
So far so good on both counts, but this is not the first time I've made either resolution, so we'll see
I have a few this year.
One (that DH is also doing so that should help me) is to loose a little weight. Not necessarily diet like crazy but just eat healthy, get more exercise to be healthier in the long run
My other is to be more organized and less cluttered. I drive DH crazy with this so I'm really going to try to improve it this year.
Mine is to workout for at least a half hour 3 times a week. I am a teacher to the max and so all my goals need to have a measurable outcome
that is easy for me to keep track of.
Today in my 2nd period class I told the kids my resolution was to clean the corner behind my desk, which is filled with stuff from our old textbook (we got new ones about a month ago) and random cardboard boxes from the beginning of the year. I told them once I cleaned it they could keep their new textbooks there, so they don't get destroyed (which means they won't lug them around), so they'll keep me to it!! lol
