Anyone know a swim coach/trainer?

I am training to do a triathlon - and I am essentially training myself.  But when it comes to swim - I need help.  I know how to swim, don't get me wrong - but not for distance and efficiency.  Does anyone have tips or can anyone refer me a swim coach or trainer to help me get started?  Or, are any of you well versed in the area of swim to help me?

Thanks!

Re: Anyone know a swim coach/trainer?

  • Have you tried with any of the tri training programs?  They have some pretty good groups here in Austin from what i have heard.

  • My DH is a competitive swimmer and has trained swimmers. He prob doesn't have time to train you but i can ask him for pointers for you, especially if you can record a video of yourself; he can analyze your swimming if you want.
  • I LOVE Nitro Swim.  I went there to learn how to swim and train for a tri.  The people there are amazing.  Several ex-olympians train there and are coaches there.  Their prices are way lower than I had originally thought I would have to spend and I never felt intimidated or looked down on becuase I was a begginer.  The owner's email is on the website and he will give you your first lesson privately with him if you email him and tell him what you are looking for.
