Hey girls! I am wondering how many of you do this or have tried to do this. I went to my first class last night, and WOW, it was rough. I found that I wasn't out of breath, but that the seat hurt my butt and my arms got tired! Any advice? I like how I felt after, but today I am SO sore.

My Favorite Part of Spring~Red Sox Baseball!
Re: Spinning
I'm back to spinning and yea that first class was ROUGH. But by the second class I was hooked. I have missed this week because I'm a bit under the weather. Can't wait to get back.
Your seat will hurt but if you continue to go to class it won't hurt by next week.
) Good luck...it's a great workout!
This. The more you go, the less your butt hurts. I think it took 4-5 classes before my butt didnt hurt after...
I love spinning, but unfortunately I have taken a hiatus. Partially because I havent really been going to the gym and partially because it really irritates my wrists (I have joint problems in my wrists, so this issue is definitely not a common one, I don't think)
I love spinnign too....tried it about a year ago and after one class I was hooked. It took me about 3 classes b4 my tush adjusted but then it gets better. As for your arms, you may wanna have the instructor check and make sure you are sitting the correct distance from the bars. I wasnt at first and thats why mine hurt so bad.....
Where does everyone spin.....I spin at Golds in Niskayuna.
Yes, your bum will get more used to the seat the more often you spin.
Your arms/back/neck/upper body should never be sore or have any strain. If you do, it could be a combination of improper bike set-up (the instructor should have helped you) and improper form (again, they should walk around and show you the right way).
Once you have those two things correct, you will not feel anymore arm strain.
Here are some good tips:

Thanks! I think I needed to move my handlebars closer bc my neck is also a bit sore. Don't worry, I will give it another go!
I spin at the Wilton YMCA.
I spin here too! We should meet up!
