Any updates on the new job up in WA? I don't remember if you posted something or not : )

Re: **Jenny**

  • I actually just talked to the recruiter before lunch! I did the online skills test (pretty easy, I thought, so hopefully I did well) this morning, and I have a formal interview with the recruiter at 8am tomorrow. I'm supposed to be practicing my interview skills right now. . . But I'm just sitting here watching my palms sweat because I'm nervous!

After I interview with the HR recruiter, I get set up to interview with the Senior Regional Director for that area (she would be my new boss). And I may also have to interview with her boss, the Regional VP, after that. I hope not. That's a lot of interviews for a company I already work for (and a job that is identical to the one I have now).

    Thank you for asking :)

Wow, that does seem like a lot!  You'll do great though Smile GL!

  • Wow, that is a lot of interviewing! Well I'm sending lots of new jobs to ya! Hopefully everything turns out how you and N would like it to! We'll have to get the So Cal Novembies together to do a "going away" dinner or something for you before you move up there! (I think I remember you saying you'd be moving either way right?)

  • Thank you, girlies!

Yes, we're moving either way, but we had planned to wait until the summer, when N's done teaching for school year. If I get this job, we'll be moving in about 5 weeks! We'll definitely have to do a dinner :).

  • Yes, I'm sure you'll do great-sweaty palms and all!

    Wishing you a fabulous interview!

  • Fortunately, my interviews will all be over the phone, so it doesn't matter if I sweat and make weird faces :). And I can keep my notes in front of me, which will help me relax. The way we do interviews at my company is very specific. We ask behavioral questions like "tell me about a time when you received a performance rating that was less than you expected" or "tell me about a time when you had to persuade a coworker to do things a different way", and we are looking for a specific type of answer that describes the situation or task, the interviewee's actions, and the result. If you don't answer in that format, you don't do well on the interview. I'm trained to conduct interviews, so in theory, I should have no problem. But I don't know the exact questions they'll ask.
  • Yes!  We must do dinner again before you go!

Good luck, sweetie!! Keep us updated!

  • Thanks, ladies! My interview is in 20 minutes!! I'll report back :)
